I love misting my locs daily like you do … it does make a difference in the way my locs feel . They’re always fluffy and soft .. I only use rose water and a mix of peppermint essential oil , water and aloe Vera juice in my locs . Resulting in perfectly ph balanced , hydrated , and happy locs ! TFS ❤

Black soap bleaches the hair... Let’s talk about this...
@LilianOkibe Жыл бұрын
I strongly doubt that this is true simply because I've been using it consistently on my hair and on others for a very long time. From my experience, I would even argue that it makes the hair darker and more shiny if you naturally have black hair. That said, I wouldn't completely discard your claim because one of the ingredients in black soap is lime and people with blonde hair have claimed that lime makes their hair lighter when they apply and go under the sun. So it is possible that lime increases the effects of sun bleaching. However, I don't think the percentage of lime in black soap is enough to have that effect since black soap is alkaline. Note: I can only speak for Dudu Osun black soap because that is the only one I use. Black soaps tend to have different ingredients. I'd like to know your point of view.♥️♥️♥️

@@LilianOkibe Hi Ms. Lilian Okibe, unfortunately, I and others have been using the Dudu brand soap and it has infact bleached parts of our hair. That is a great point, it could be the lime component in the soap that's having that effect or something else. I thought about your experience deeply, and maybe why it hasn't happened to you yet, is because you use shea butter after you use black soap! Shea butter is very thick and adds back that protective layer that was destroyed by the black soap. Even when you go to wash your hair again, that shea butter that was used weeks ago is still present while your washing again and protects it from stripping due to how thick it is. Some say shea butter can even be used as a form of sunscreen! However, my personal opinion is that a product should stand alone and shouldn't need another product to be great. Indeed, I love the way black soap suds, gets the hair squeaky clean and the job done quickly. However, I hate the thought of something weakining my strands of hair. The fact that its bleaching the hair strand literally means its weakening the strand. Hence, this is why blonde hair tends to need protein, alot of moisture and protection from the sun. The less protein you hair needs shows how strong your hair is. The darker your strand is shows how strong you hair is. Just to add to my point, not only does black soap do that to the hair it does it to the skin too! One day after showering with it I went to the beach and I got sun burn on my skin. But what was interesting was that I got sunburn on my scalp to. Although my scalp was exposed to the sun that day, which could've been a factor to the sunburn, I've done that plenty of times and never have gotten sunburn. Ahaa! There is when I knew the culprit! This is very unfortunate because I really liked using it. In result, I'm going to try out another soap product called Batana soup. Ive heard its great for the hair and skin, and has healing properties. I would love to hear your response💜💜💜💜💜💜

@@longkang9366 I'm so sorry about your experience.🤗🤗🤗 You should definitely stop using it if you suspect that it may be weakening your hair. I haven't heard of Dudu Osun black soap causing sun burn before but thinking about it, it's possible, albeit, not because of the lime content. Black soap is deep cleansing so it leaves the skin (and hair) squeaky clean and naked which makes it more prone to sun damage. This is why it is mandatory to properly moisturize afterwards. I agree, I haven't noticed this personally because I have always used shea butter afterwards. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me.♥️♥️♥️

@@LilianOkibe Yes, maybe if you were to experiment with it and don't use shea butter after, it would have the same effect. There's a trusted herbalist who's very critical with research, and he recommends not to use it neither. Also, I do know there are evils in this world who create alternative to problems...acting as if they are helping, when in reality they are still causing problems. To get the best option of product, I've notice you have to go out ur way and buy from a herbalis to get. Example, people notice that commercial deodorant have harmful chemicals, so the same people making those deodorant create a more "natural" deodorant. Then consumers switch to natural deodorant, but than that burns their underarms or doesn't work as good. Eventually, people figure out the real solution to underarms issues is using clay once a week under the underarm and lime as traditional deodorant. Just telling you this so black soap doesn't harm you in the long run... love the intellectuall conversations!

@@LilianOkibe One more point just because its alkaline doesn't mean it's good or should be of use I should say. Example, bison milk is considered alkaline but blood to the human body causes mucus and health problems. Another example, key lime is considered alkaline, but can cause the stomach to become gassy. Alklaine is great but it has to be both alkaline and made by source for humans to consume and use.
