all of you need to keep one thing in mind. this expansion only serves the purpose to sate the interests of the player base. it gives us something new to do while they work on destiny 2. most of the studio is hard at work on destiny 2, as such only a small portion of the bungie team were purposed to making this expansion. its filler, thats it. so dont get your hopes up cause as far as im concerned this is an extra expansion that didnt need to happen, but it did so that we could have something to do until the big one comes next year.

Just wanted to say thanks for the honest opinion! And the heads up to slightly change my idea of what it would be. If I didn't see this video I wouldve been HUGELY saddened with the expansion because I REALLY don't like rehashing old content. It is the most frustrating thing to me in my opinion- but being prepared to take it to have a similar play style to TTK and not as much different content means a lot! That's how hype trains go off the tracks. It's bad journalism. It's not good for anyone and it's definitely not good for the consumer (AKA their audience; the people they're supposed to be looking out for). I don't talk about something unless I've experienced it, that's how it will always be. I could get a lot more views, a lot more subs and make a lot more money if I just shit out videos all the time, but I choose not to. I agree with you on everything in this video. You gotta remember that a lot The Taken King was meant to be included with original vanilla Destiny, it had existed long before Rise of Iron did. The Taken King was meant to change Destiny and completely overhaul it to make it better. Expecting something like The Taken King out of Rise of Iron is ridiculous. TTK was such a huge content drop, even after Regicide concluded there was still so much left to do. And I feel with ROI it's going to be the same, even with 5 campaign missions there's gonna be much left to do afterwords. Not to mention Bungie has Festival of Lost coming in October and SRL in December and possibly more free events that will add to ROI over time. But regardless of all of this, ROI is gonna be a great expansion to Destiny. Yes I'd love to touch on the other plot holes we have with vanilla Destiny but we'll get there when we get there, there's a rhyme and reason for Bungie having Destiny taking the path it's on. Anyways 4 more days to the expansion and I couldn't be more excited for this expansion.

Rise of iron isn't supposed to be as big as the taken king. It's a dlc which adds some things to the game. And the reimagining of the old strikes really does go along with the theme of siva. It takes control of things and makes them better. Either way nice video. And keep up the great work. Love u terra

So all I have to go off of with the new DS3 DLC is the trailer. I mean, I'm excited for it because it's new Dark Souls and Miyazaki's track record is amazing so I'm not worried about it or anything. But, I just don't know much about it other than the trailer. So that's my opinion, I'm looking forward to playing it come October 25th.

I really hope that there will be some kind of guardian/Iron lord as a SIVA, it would awesome if something like that would come as the final boss of the raid or the story mission. In destiny lore seeking things is what drives the "cool" stories- Dredgen Yor seeking power, Osiris seeking knowledge and power and more stories..

It makes sense that it wouldn't be as big as TTK, this is the 3rd of the dlc packs and TTK was the first expansion. Also, I doubt this is even meant to keep us going for a whole year anyway. Remember the timeline that leaked even before Destiny 1.0 was released? Game > dlc > dlc > comet > dlc > dlc > and repeat. They have fallen behind schedule, but I think they are still sticking to their contractual agreement for content releases.

And is the Plaguelands a whole new patrol spot, like does it have a whole new patrol point or is the only way to patrol it do you need to do through the Rocket Yard in Old Russia to go into the Plaguelands? Yes, there's normal Fallen in the Cosmodrome still as far as I know. Also, I believe that the Plaguelands are its own patrol area separate from the original.

If all it roi was was new gear and a new raid id gladly pay 30 bucks for it. lets not compare ttk content size to roi because the price point is 25% less. another thing to remember is the live team is twice as big as last years so things like the april update can happen with more frequency. theres also some rumbles that older raids could be brought up in year 3 at some point and that's something the fan base has been clamoring for awhile. were talking the difference of 3 single player missions and 3 strikes (2 on xbox). im confident that year 3 will be a blasy

great review, however to clarify something, I'm not sure if you know what it takes to build a game or an expansion. however that said I'd like to point out that most AAA games such as destiny are created in 3-5 year intervals for them to have the amount of content that they do. So for a 1 year turnout I'd say they did an excellent job. Just remember that there is a LOT more then has to happen besides aesthetics for a game to be made. Bending to the demands of their fan base they have had to cut quite a bit of production time. solution get the fans to quit demanding quicker releases. then perhaps the game will hold up to the high standards that you and your fans have.

I don't know what it takes to create most AAA games. That said, my only point of reference with Bungie is their past titles. So from Destiny Vanilla to TTK was 1 year and from TTK to Rise of Iron has also been a year. Some people might be expecting Rise of Iron to match the size, scope and innovation to Destiny that TTK brought since (from a consumer's perspective) the two expansions have had similar lengths of time in development. I'm telling people not to expect that. I literally said "Overall I think Rise of Iron is great" but I just want people to curve their expectations. I don't want hype-train expectations to ruin an expansion for someone because the game doesn't deliver on what their wild imagination (and good marketing) has created in their head.

This isn't official but Destiny 2 will revolve around the Cabal. Much in the same way Destiny revolved around the Hive with Crota and Oryx, D2 will more than likely lead up to the Cabal Emperor much in the same way Destiny led up to the King of the Hive, Oryx.
