Hey terramantis, another dark souls reference to destiny is that on the titan's third subclass, sunbreaker, there is a perk called fire keeper, the perk either regenerates your health when you stand in the solar flare created by your hammer or it gives you an over shield, either way, it sounds like it is similar to the bonfires of dark souls

Great work man... I've watched plenty of you videos in the past and while most of them have a fantastic level of quality, this one took the cake. Nice video, guys! Especially intrigued by that cosmic egg/Khonsu connection, which fits in well some of the Alpha Lupi grimoire and Egyptian themes of later content. Rasputin seems to call the Traveler "the Gardener" as well, which feeds right into that idea. Though - a lore writer for Bungie over on Reddit has said that the Achlyophage Symbiote's connection to Dark Souls is coincidence, while the Heart of the Praxic Fire's is entirely intentional. I imagine Eris's gesture is also non-coincidental. A bigger take away, certainly, is how much the flavor text and grimoire text contributes to the lore of the game; Dark Souls relied on that to piece its story together, and Destiny does much of its worldbuilding that way, too.

For your next video in this series (assuming you make one), may I suggest including the similarities between Destiny and the cult classic game Phantasy Star Online. Three races in each: one human, one altered human, and one robot. Three classes in each: one meant to get up in the enemy's face and tank, one meant to take enemies out from afar, and meant for spellcasting. I'd say it was quite the inspiration.

I've also noticed something that seemed to inspire a lot behind the warlocks abilitys, specifically his nova bomb and its variation, lance. Near the beginning of destiny I noticed that the warlocks lance bears a striking resemblance to the ability used by the main character of an old manga called a 'Psyren'. The main character of Psyren developed psychic powers, the main of which is 'Melzez Door' , the ability allows him to project pure energy that annihilates everything it touches. Once he learns to control the power more , he adapts Melzez Door into other powers, one of which is his most offensive ability, Melzez Lance, which is a focused beam of energy that travels in a straight line. Sounds familiar, right. He then learns a new ability called 'Nova' and in appearance Nova looks like a sunsinger's radiance. Another similarity is that when not controlled the energy from Melzez door naturally tracks ands destroys other energy, in short, it's like the voidwalker perk angry magic.

Another inspiration for the dark below dlc, is from Greek Mythology. The God of the Sky Oreanous (wrong spelling ik) and his wife gave birth to the titans. One of the these titans being Kronos (then later Kronos creating the gods like Zeus). Now what is interesting, is the names of the two villains. Oryx, and Crota. Oreanous and Kronos. Very similiar.

Destiny's single most powerful inspiration is the greed of Activision, and the corrupt manner in which they rape their fanbase continually as the game "improves". I am watching from the sidelines and enjoying the show. This is truly one of the most interesting anal fuckings that gamers have been willing to take. I'm disappointed that you didn't mention the connections to one of Bungie's first games, Pathways into Darkness. The connections to PiD are actually stronger than the ones to Marathon, Myth, and Dark Souls, in my opinion.
