My youngest brother is a pilot for the very rich people, and has flown both the King Air 350 and the Pilatus PC-12 and logged many hours in each. He told me if money didn't matter he would own a PC-12 NGX, he stated that he has made many west coast to east coast trips when the jet stream is helping with a push. But the main reason is the cost of inspections, the Annual is easier he was telling me and one engine is much cheaper. He has been currently flying the GULFSTREAM G650ER for the last 8 or 9 years and is fond of them. He also has time in the Bombardier and Falcons. But his all time fav is the F-18 Super Hornet.

Its $4.39Mil, but dont think you're going to spend only $4.39M. When you factor in its fuel consumption, hangar space, insurance, maintenance, overhauls (prop and engine), you will be well beyond $4.39M. You better have the big bucks to own this beautiful plane.

It's a jet engine driving a propeller. It is a jet. There are turbofan jets and turboprop jets.
@chrisdinges5515 Жыл бұрын
@@Factory400 it is a gas turbine engine driving a propeller. The term "Jet" came from the first gas turbine powered aircraft that was classified as a turboJET engine which propels the aircraft forward by using a nozzle creating a jet stream of thrust. The PC-12 is a turboprop, it does not use an exhaust nozzle to create thrust, it instead uses a propeller. only turbojet aircraft are considered jets. I cringed too when he called it a Jet, also his pronunciation of FADEC told me he is not very experienced in aviation.

@@God_has_spoken no, it’s a turbine powered engine, a jet uses a turbine to push air, a turbo prop uses a turbine to turn a propeller.

@@fimbo6347 10% of the purchase price is a good rule of thumb. The newer PC-13 NGX os $8M.......Fuel, insurance, hangar fees, mechanic fees, pilot fees...it just adds up. it burns 55 gallons per hour.....

For the same price of a PC12 NGX, you can buy a Hondajet, fly 10,000 feet higher, much faster, quieter, and Garmin 3000. Why travel by a turboprop when you can travel in a twin engine jet with style.
