Thank you SO much. I've dreamed for years (since I was a kid) of seeing the Macy's parade in person, and never got to go. But this year my teenage daughter will be marching in it. So I will absolutely be there! I've been so concerned about all these details and unaware of where to turn to find out. This answered SO many questions and helped me know where to focus my search, as well as when to arrive, what to expect, and more. Thanks for sharing your regrets, too: I would so enjoy the balloon-filling but had no idea that was publicly viewable. Very helpful tips.

All great tips! Do you have the problem with getting there early for a front row and people showing up later or last minute trying to push in front of you? This always happens at Disney fireworks. Wait for hours with a good spot and someone comes along with five minute till show time thinking they can push in front of you. Thanks for sharing the tips. We probably won't ever get a chance to see this live.
@TravelingWithEmMe2 жыл бұрын
That is a great question! With the huge crowd that showed up there was only one person who tried to shove their way to the front and lets just say the NYC crowd didn't take to kindly to that LOL!!

Ugh!!! This comment makes me think of when I went to see the Changing of the Guards and got there super early to have a front row, center view. Well 5 seconds before the start, some disabled guy rolls up in his wheelchair. I think no problem, he won’t block my view, but then 6 family members squeeze their way through, and the way everyone moved to make room pushed me back. It all happened so fast! 😭 I was so upset.

Disappointed to find out that the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree wasn’t lit up. Poor planning on NYC’s part, IMO. Questions: 1. Did you go to Macy’s itself and was it decorated for the holiday? 2. Were other attractions in NYC decorated? In other words, was there a festive atmosphere? 3. Is wi-fi available in the area? Thank you for your informative video. 👍🏼
@TravelingWithEmMe10 ай бұрын
1. We did go to Macy's and it was decorated but it was so hectic inside we didn't stay long! 2. Most everything was decorated and it was a super festive atmosphere! Felt very much like Christmas! 3. Our hotel had wi-fi but that was the only place where we really need it! Hope that helps!

That is awesome!! What a fun experience for you both! You appear to be in a pretty good area already! Our suggestion would be to get as close to the starting point of the parade as possible and if you can out of the shade of the buildings (much colder in the shade)! We have a young child that has to go to the bathroom often. How hard is it to get back to your spot with your family once the parade starts or gets close to starting? What did you do with your chair once the parade started?

What a great birthday gift! So when we go again these are the big things for us... 1. We would try to get there Tuesday so we have all day Wednesday to get ourselves situated and check out them blowing up the balloons! I hate we missed that. 2. Absolutely make sure your hotel is close to the parade route. It may be the only place you can use the bathroom if you need it. 3. Try to find a spot as close to the beginning of the parade as you can. We were around 46th and it took the parade around 45 minutes to get to us! 4. BUNDLE UP!! Hope that helps and let us know if you have any other questions!
