Thanks for these tips! Do you know when they open the roads back up after the parade is done? I'll need to head to JFK and my hotel is blocked right around the middle of the parade route

I'd say the roads usually open back up within an hour.. the cleaning crew is right behind the parade so it all gets cleaned as it moves down the road. It's very well organized. If for some reason there is a delay you can walk over a block to an open street and take an uber etc from there.

am staying at the Herald hotel on 35th street, do you know if we can stand and hold a spot from here, or will it be blocked off? I will have a little one and will need our hotel bathroom near??

You should call the hotel and ask for their policy maybe they have some sort of entry pass or you have to show your room key.. when we went my friend lived in that area so to get to his apartment we had to show the police that he lived in the area w proof of his ID w his address on it in order to get thru the closed avenue. They do block off an avenue from where the parade route is after it starts to try and control traffic. I haven't stayed at a hotel during that time. But please come back and let us know what they say 🙏
