Since Orochimaru has achieved immortality, I wouldn't mind a spinoff series of his full backstory going from a young age, through the events in Naruto and Boruto and then jumping hundreds of years each Arc to see how he deals with outliving everybody and what he does during all this time. Just so we can see his character development during hundreds of years and the development of the Naruto universe.

He really hate the concept of death in general.he knows that death will only bring regrets and sadness for the love ones like how Orochimaru react to Tsunade's brother and her boyfriend death. His first intention is to be immortal and he will be able to master all jutsu without worrying of death, but he get corrupted along his immortality journey.

Looking into the timeline, the legendary Sannin were born during the First Shinobi war. The life span during that time was shorter (around 30) and Orochimaru and Jiraiya might've lost their parents as a result of war. The sannin graduated at 6 years old and were trained by Hiruzen. It was noted that Orochimaru was scarred by his parents' death. 20 years later, he participated in the 2nd Shinobi War where he witnessed Tsunade lose Dan and Nawaki which also traumatized him and made him though of how fragile human life is. After that he got more twisted when he was working under Danzo.

Since a lot of parallels are drawn between he and Sasuke, I’m gonna say yes, but they were all killed somehow. The interesting thing about his snake-like aspects is that with the other anthropomorphic characters (like Kiba) the reason they are like that is because of the way they use jutsu. (Kiba channels his chakra in his nose to smell better, fuses with Akamaru to become a two headed dog) but Orochimaru seems to just be that way naturally, like the Uchiha and their Sharingan.
