Growing up we were really poor, but every other Friday when my dad got paid we got jack in the box cheeseburgers, it was the only fast food we really got growing up. Still love jack in the box but the closest one is in the next town so haven’t had it in some time

Oh my God, I remember eating the Jumbo Jack for lunch one time when on holiday in the States in 1997. I wasn't hungry till the next day. That thing was huge, the ingredients were superfresh and it only cost 99ct.

I used to eat at Jack in the box on a regular basis. The Jumbo Jack was 99 cents and filling. It was a big, juicy burger and taste ed great. Homeless ppl and ppl on a fixed income finally had an option for an affordable,meal. Now, the Jumbo Jack is almost 4 times as expensive and it has ridiculously shrunk in size. I rarely eat at Jack in the box any more. The clown has joined all the other overpriced, size diminishing, processed fast food restaurants. I have also worked at 3 different Jack in the Box stores. They keep the front lobby and restrooms clean.However, the kitchens were atrocious

If you stretch it, Jack in The Box & Sonic are the only ones you can pre-read but the only traditional restaurant Drive thru that does that is Jack in The Box. It's kind of dumb anyway that they're is only one right at the order area anyway, if you don't know the menu, good luck to the people behind you getting fast food...

Jack [the mascot] actually existed as far back as the 50s, but was a literal Jack In The Box. In the 1970s, he was given a full body, and now had a whole cast of friends. There's only three of the animated commercials on KZbin [Baseball, In The Park, and one simply titled Jack In The Box Animated Commercial 1970s], and there are also the three comics with records [How A House Makes Noise, Where Oil Comes From, and How Pain Helps Us] on KZbin as well. Paul Winchell did the voices. I'm a 2000s kid but I prefer the 70s incarnation of Jack, IMO.

Jack in the Box gave me my start in restaurants, some 42 years ago. At that time, the restaurant was based on wrappers, not food. It had metallic wraps that were great, but the food within was all frozen and cheap. Then they chose to upgrade, propelled partially due to an unfortunate mishap. After that(I was long gone by then), the food became far better. Because of publicity, they had to make a better burger and theirs has been the best out there for lo these many years. I now seek out JIB's whenever I'm lucky enough to be in the area for their new menu. Oh, and their ads were always cool, too...

We don't have Jack In The Box here in Massachusetts, but there are plenty of them in Indiana where my partner used to live; whom is now living with me here in Mass. and we got Jack In The Box and tbh it wasn't that bad actually lol

I eat at jack in the box occasionally, I like some of the food too. My younger brother called them JIB and used to always eat a jumbo jack and 2 tacos. Loved this video as I never knew about them much. Thanks for this fun and educational video. Makes me want to eat there now.

I live in Calgary and the nearest Jack in the Box from me is in Sandpoint, Idaho which is about a 7 hour drive away. Not too bad considering Vancouver is way farther, and I'm thinking about doing a road trip someday just to have lunch there, lol.

Jack in the Box got a bad rap on the e coli scandal. It's true they had an outbreak, but the problem was industry wide. None of the other chains wanted to admit it could be a problem or change their behavior. Eventually the incident led to better standards across the board and everyone started cooking their burgers more. But Jack in the Box deserved credit for admitting the problem and immediately trying to fix it rather than deny the obvious. Ground beef is prone to contamination and needs to be cooked enough to kill e coli or it's just a matter of time, mainly because of how the meat is handled when the cattle are slaughtered.

And let's not forget one of the biggest jerky things the mascot did in the early 2000s with the annoying phrase I still make fun of to this day and that was "Good Holiday Spirit, Jack...!" as opposed to "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!" Hahaha!!!

I lived kitty-corner to a JITB in Olympia, WA in 1993. One of the first hit by the E-coli outbreak. Everyone was pretty surprised Jack managed to recover from that. It was almost a foregone conclusion that they would be going bankrupt. Thank God I detested their food..(still do..😝)

Desperately miss it because we don't have it in this state, but they're all over the West coast. Had one up the road from us growing up and didn't know how good I had it. Nobody makes milkshakes and sides like Jack in the Box, but Sonic is a close second. (Even that has shut down near us. There might be one left within reasonable driving distance, but IDK where it's at.) Now we can only get it on road trips. I'm tempted to bring a cooling bag or something next road trip in hopes of keeping the food fresh/cold a bit longer. Edit: To me, Freida's soyrizo in a taco shell tastes just like their tacos, I'm not sure why, because that's not how it tastes plain. Happy discovery!

@@dylynblue9864 Well, in quality and menu variety I'd say. I'm a vegetarian now, so I can't speak for the burgers, but Sonic's mozzarella sticks are as good as anything you'd find at Jack in the Box! That said, if you're ever near both, pick Jack in the box!! They have cheesecake! Sonic does not.

@@BabbleTop Has me wondering why Jacks did not expand outside the US? I now live in Costa Rica and we have McDonalds, Denney's, Taco Bell and KFC but not Jacks. I served 32 years in the US Army but recently locked out of my own country. They want me to show a Government Issued Photo ID with a US Address. I have a Retired Military ID, a VA ID, a US Passport and several other government issued ID's, but none contain a US Mailing Address. I don't have one. nearly 4 years ago my bank dumped me over the same issue, no US Mailing address. All my family and friends who remained in the US are deceased. Besides I would need to return to the US to obtain a Government Issued Photo ID with US Mailing Address. And no one would issue one without first obtaining a US Mailing Address with the Post Office that requires a Photo ID and rent and utility receipts proving you have a residence. US has gone completely insane.
