Before you attack me over Rob Halford, I suggest you finish the video first. Many people are missing the point of this video and coming after the people listed. I can't do anything about that other than expressing my disappointment. There's another thing people seem to be misinterpreting, but I can clarify: I never stated BABYMETAL isn't metal. I'm fully aware that they are metal af, which is what got me into them in the first place. I even shared a picture of them listed among the best 10 metal bands of all times. What I REALLY meant was that I can understand why other people may think they aren't metal and why we shouldn't get offended by it. Because they aren't JUST metal, they are much more than that single label. The snippet from FUTURE METAL wasn't used to back up the idea that they aren't metal, but that they are their own thing and striving to create their very own genre. A genre that isn't limited to just Heavy Metal. Will this pinned comment stop people from making assumptions and attacking? Nope. But I still want to try 🤣

As for the David Reece comments on BABYMETAL “hurting” metal, they just never looked at the possibilities it could bring. What they thought of was “copy cats” arise and essentially destroy the genre but if they did some digging and a little bit of research, they would know that the music industry in Asia (especially in South Korea and Japan) you will get SLAUGHTERED if you do anything remotely similar to an already established artist. So copy cats are not rewarded. However, the results bore fruits that these guys didn’t have the hindsight to comprehend. BABYMETAL is a bridge. A lot of people who love BABYMETAL who are not metal heads, ended up discovering more bands like BMTH, Sabaton, Judas Priest, Metallica (who are BMs favorite band), Arch Enemy, and so much more. Also, westerners who discovered BABYMETAL were introduced to the Japanese metal scene. They’ve become fans of X Japan, Hanabie, BAND MAID, LOVEBITES, and a lot more. Also let’s not forget the significance of the fact that it also started a huge spike in numbers of Female bands and the rise in female metal fans too. I see it as a net positive for metal.

Same here man. Not a big fan of their earlier stuff without a real band onstage, but once they got a live band, that changed everything. Mikio Fujioka was one of my favorite guitarists, and he was one of the first to play with them, but he tragically died a few years ago. They have absolutely top notch world class musicians, the songs are meteoric, and they have an unparalleled stage show. Nobody else does it that good.

Having seen them live and having a great time at their show, I still think some of their popularity is undeserved within the metal space. No, it's just gross. It's funny that people seem to hate Japanese Idols because of the parasocial correlations the industry pushes on us but for some reason those same people are ok with Korean Idols. The whole idea that Amuse is using Su, Yui, Moa, and Momoko as parasocial clickbait it asinine. Look at how (mostly) Korean idol groups, and western female artists present themselves on stage, either half naked with only a thin top and denim shorts (very very short) or/and skin-tight suits that are cameltoe bait. If you really are a singer/musician/dancer, why do you show up on stage as if that was your first step towards an onlyfans career? I can't imagine Sharleen Spiteri, Enya, Susanna Hoffs, Ann Wilson, and many other GREAT female singers showing up dressed as wh0r3s, because each in their time, had/have true talent and skill. ❤ Babymetal has always been the opposite of that, all covered up to the neck, skirts down to half the tight, being sexy was never the selling point.

I like a lot of Skindred's songs but the guy just showed how fucking disrespectful he is to other performers, particularly those for whom English is a foreign language. Not racist? Maybe, but you'd think he'd at least understand why people saw it that way. Nah, rude af for no reason. For the record, so long as BABYMETAL has the Kami Band they are metal af.

For me Babymetal is not metal also not jpop/pop band. Babymetal is like in the middle between both. They do create their own genre, their own world. Many metal fans hate them because it's too cute to be metal, and I don't think jpop fans accept them also because their music is too hard for jpop (unless you're SG fans). It's hard being Babymetal themselves because they don't easily accepted even in many music genre, it happen also with other music acts who break the rules, mixed or created new genre. Babymetal litteraly have their own world (ok metalverse). The true fans they will get is only from people who love music in general like me, the people who are open-minded and respect every music genre. btw, it's also kinda sad but understandable that they're not allowed to have social media account and keeping their privacy very strictly I believe because it's too risky because all hates they get even until now.

I feel like this video gave me.... targets to hate. Who should I hate because they were mean to Babymetal? Actually I don't want to hate anyone, but I'll remember their actions. Will there be a follow up if any of these people changed their minds or apologized like Benji did? Anyway, thank you for your efforts on this video. I liked it, but I don't want to. I look forward to more of your work :)

Holy shit, the copium on this Andy Copping guy. I'm finishing this video and goddamn, like it was supposed to last a week per him, then it's been years and they're bigger than ever, and he's still like "it can't be good" At least he admitted he was wrong, or at the very least, the people want it. You cannot deny that crowds don't mark out for Babymetal.

This is a well made video. All I can say about Babymetal is that they brought innocence and fun back to metal and along the way metal music seemed to be missing that. Su's vocals is not a joke and the mighty Kami band is outstanding. And it's because of Babymetal I discovered Dreamcatcher, Rolling Quartz and Scandal. So, as far as our little metal sisters are concerned, Babymetal Rocks! I want to add a bit about Dreamcatcher, they are known as the Dark Angels of Kpop, they have totally changed the landscape of Kpop and that's freaking brilliant. 🤘🥰🤘

3:24 Nergal part is really sad...he supposed to encouraged the new generation to dive more into Metal scene...not belittled them & their works...beside, the band (KAMI) is no joke...like musically...

Also most metalbands are independent artist and metal used to be underground and more close with they fans metal is a subculture for the people not against the people with greed when it was born it was also against the standarts and norms

I was really a bit confused at the end of the Rob Halford bit, I was like 50-60, are you joking or not showing anything. Rob imo is a Metal Grandmaster and their collaboration is new to me. I think I got a nice idea and really loved the soothing approach of your video. I got into babymetal a few days ago and my 2yr old daughter really likes the chokolate, I DID NOT think I could get her into metal this early. There have been Pharrel Williams and The Scarface Theme, but getting Chokolate into my babygirl's menu, I fell very wholesome as a dad. Thank you for making it, I got a little better with the lore and will continue to advance this topic. Subscribed, best yo yall!

The 2 reason I can see why Metal bands and the Metal community disrespect Baby Metal is that. 1 Most westerners don't understand the kuwai music culture of Japan. To westerners it's creepy to see middle aged men geeking out over some kids who in some cases, girls who haven't reached puppetry. scene Baby Metal is a marketing gamic that works in Japan because of the kuwai culture. Metal is a style of music that comes from within, not a board room. We can smell them back then, and we can smell them now. There are not too many 12-year-old girls that would listen to heavy metal. The girls in Baby Metal even confirmed this.

Props for using the 'Nos Vemos' from the Mexican shows to sign off 🖤. Also I fell off Auronplay personally, but I laughed so hard when you cut into him. In fact your whole edition work was splendid, one of the best and it shows how much you have grown in this field over the years. Again, Bravo!

Whomever the frak was at #9, making an obvi dig at Band Maid & grunge, clearly has NO idea what he's talking bout! 😃 Also. while I'm not big on BabyMetal. anyone from Limp Bizkit has NO right to talk smack about anyone ever! Meant no offense to Babymetal. They're just not my cup of tea. As for Limp Bizkit - yes offense! 😖

I genuinely love this video so much and also like someone else said in the comments the fact that baby metal was able to make so many grown men upset is literally so iconic! Also the little clips of skz caught me so off guard LMAODFJKHF

I have seen every metal band there is from slayer, cannibal corpse, Death, megadeth , nevermore, testament, exodus , sepultura , children of bodom, amon amarth ect . My entire life i have ben going to every metal show i can possibly go to and i tell you what. Baby metal went hard . They went HARRRRRDDDD . I was highly impressed and i will most definitely go see them everytime they come through. I saw them with dethklok the other night and it was just awesome. Anyone who has stigma or whatever needs to just drop it and check them out live before you judge.

You have once again outdone yourself Miss Omajination. You are quickly becoming one of my favorite reactors to Babymetal.. right up there with Prof. Hartley, Chase Carneson and that one prog rock guy, who was not a fan of Babymetal but praised their special talent to command a massive audience. Plus. he was really blown away by both the musicality of TOTD and the ladies live performance... that was a prime example of not liking somethin without being dismissive or worse, disrespectful. Anyhow, please keep up the great work young Miss, we are always eager to watch your videos. WA - HA - HAHA 😂😂😂

Interesting that the only people that have been negative about Babymetal are people that desperately need publicity. More likely they are all jealous that young girls are far more successful than they could hope to be. Me, being an actual metal guy, can say that BM rocks the house and they are a perfect PERFECT side dish when you just need something different.

Here's my take: Babymetal IS a silly gimick. But if that was all there was to them, I wouldn't like them. The music is GOOD and it's a fun blend of two genres that usually contrast. The girls do seem to be genuine metal fans and they're passionate about what they do. Being a silly gimmick does NOT exclude them from being good as well. ;) ( See: Weird Al Yankovich )

I've not watched your video past 2.27. I'm 75 NEVER LIKED heavy Metal, etc. {I like West Coast, Singer/songwriter's, Bubblegum & many different styles of music from "Mother's of Invention, Jefferson Airplane, Stone's, Chris Wall.} BUT I do LIKE BABY METAL. I love seeing the dancing and the musician's are fantastic..... They ARE a visual group BUT the musicianship is excelant & enjoyable and I would say, faultless. As someone who's alway's had unusual taste {or diverse} BOTH, LOL. People put down what I like. I feel sad for their "Tunnel vision" in not having an open mind {ear's} and being ABLE to enjoy a wide variety of music. I feel ENRICHEND. ...... PS, I fully agree with how you feel about NEGATIVITY. Michael.

Interesting how I got this video recommended to me a few days before I go see Babymetal in concert O_O. But anyways, nice vid! I do agree that there are a lot of metalheads that are dismissing Babymetal just for being different. Like of course you don't have to like their music, but don't go around disrespecting them or the people who like them. Let people enjoy the metal they want to listen to.

do they not realize people have the same opinions about music they like too? I've never heard of any of these bands/people with the exception of Fred. If it wasn't for BabyMetal i would have never went down the Japanese metal rabit hole and found awesome bands like , Unlucky Morpheus, Baid-maid, Passcode, Yousei Teikoku, Utsu-P, Ladybaby, Maximum the Hormone, Yeule, TriDent, IronBunny etc. It's nice that there's a change up. IMO

im 57 and like a lot baby metal,it gets boring to hear bitter alcoholics/drugaddicts grown men talking about hate and being pissed off and frustrated all their miserable lives, screaming like monsters, it gets so old and boring,i love little japanese girls singing to me with their beautiful voices .
@ericdpeerik3928 Жыл бұрын
LOL! I love all these opinions. I'm old enough to have seen some of the metal subgenres come up and it was the same thing. No one cares, they're going to do their own thing. Baby metal destroyed some "holy houses" with their own thing, which in itself is metal AF. 😂 I'm not a big fan, but they make me smile, because they crossed over boundaries that should never be crossed. But....... Babymetal fans should definitely grow thicker skin.

This girl is always so based xD Yeah I don't know what to add, I agree with... everything? Ah yeah I couple of thoughts that came to my mind. - I always see a lot of drama in the community when a black person is involved, the skindred thing made me remember what recently happened with the lil uzi vert collab. I don't know if it is something they have going on in the USA fanbase or what. It seems to always be an overreaction. - It is not us metalheads the only fan demographic that has been gatekeeping them. But it is really two little details, the video is really good and I didn't know some of this stories. Thank you for compiling it.
