That's how positions in rugby go: 1-15: the starters 16-23: the subs Usually 16 is the replacement hooker, 17 and 18 the replacement pillars, 19 the replacement lock, 20 the replacement third rower, 21 the replacement scrum-half, 22 the replacement fly-half and 23 the utility back (versatile swiss-knife). Richie Mo'unga, Beauden Barrett and Damian Mckenzie often play at 22 for the ABs when they aren't starting. Sometimes Damian will play at #23 if another specialist fly-half or replacement center is aligned as a sub as well.

Yeah Damo plays from a bench a bit. ABs kind of have a problem with the 10 and 15 positions, actually a few countries have similar problems. We have like 4 or 5 great players for those positions but they all change the game plan a bit when they are on the field, and work differently with each other. We need like, 3 more fullbacks on the field. Then we could have Damo, Beaudie, Jordi and Richie all on at once haha.
