@@Humblemumble7 This is one of those side story comics of things going on during AvX. Tony went to challenge Magneto and had suit specially made to fight him so Magneto couldn't use his abilities against the metal suit. So he used different materials and technology against him. Tony got his shots in, but for the most part Magneto had the upper hand even with all of Tony's preparation. Magneto then got distracted because he felt the magnetic field of a planet being destroyed by the Phoenix and he pretty much stopped fighting and Tony flew away. And even Tony in his mental reflection realized he got away easy. Also, this was at a point where Magneto was weaker than he normally is.

Lets not also forget that in superior iron man when pepper tries to stop him in his endo-sym suit, she attempts to outsmart him by using a symbiotes weakness and totally fails because tony says "you think i'd build a suit like this without first taking out its major design flaw?"... in other words, tony was smart enough to make a technology that basically removes all the downsides of having a symbiote. And everyone who's ever worn a symbiote probably would have killed for that ability.

Two things: first, Iron Man would never be able to defeat Doctor Doom. That's ridiculous. Doctor Doom is on par with Reed Richards, and both men are more intelligent than Tony Stark. Secondly, Dr. Doom would never need to steal from Tony Stark. Tony Stark doesent just outsmart, he learns from his mistakes. For example, in Civil War, Ant Man managed to get his way into Tony’s armour and disable one of his hand repulsers, making it ultimately useless. In Infinity War however, he created the nano-tech suit, therefore learning from that moment in Civil War by creating a suit that no one can get into, big or small.

The smartest version of iron man is the digital verion of him stored in the Hypervelocity suit, also called Tony Ghost. He is probably on par with Ultron when it comes to intellect. Read Iron man Hypervelocity. He would have become something close to a functional divinity but was (probably) destroyed by a nuclear bomb. Still his sofware keeps evolveing essentially making him capable of moving as fast as quicksilver and think many times faster than any human.
