I don't mind women in comics being over sexualized as long as they're solid, well written characters and not just there for eye candy. I'll admit that I love it when I see male heroes given the same treatment as female ones. My favorite comic character is Nightwing and his attractiveness definitely plays a part in why he's my favorite. Characters being drawn in eye catching ways is fine as long as they've got more going for them than just their looks.

Exactly, I think there's good sexualization, and bad sexualization. It all depends on the character and the context, like Power Girl for example, not only she's aware that she's hot, but she uses it as distraction and many jokes through her comics, as well as living in a world were big evil doesn't really exist and there are just petty criminals. Sexualizing Invisible Woman, on the other hand, was awful because her character is not like that, she's a serious scientist and a mother, and her group dynamic is all about being a family of heroes who trust each other.

I think my only issue is the title is phrase din such a ways as to imply all the characters all had their costumes and physiques altered and that sexy heroes are bad. Starfire complaints I hate because people seem to think she was like the animated version in the comics, no she wore the skimpy costume and was confused about human modesty from the start, yes Red Hood and the outlaws sucked and presented her as overspecialized, but that was due to out o character behavior not her costume, the costume fit the character, the promiscuous behavior did not. A lot of characters who are "oversexualized" is actual makes sense, they are humans at the peak of psychical capability or super humans with unobtainable bodies. Wonder Woman is a Greek Goddess for crying out loud. Many many heroes have always worn skin tight or skimpy outfits, it's not a recent invention, you put superior bodies in tight clothes people will notice, we need to remind people Superheros are NOT the normal standard of beauty or attractiveness, they are usually peak of the scale. Perfect 10 or beyond, there should be NO expectation that the majority of heroes should look like normal people, because they aren't normal people, they are superheros. Realistic body types belong on real life heroes like doctors, nurses, police officers and firefighters not guys like Superman.

It honestly doesn’t matter how sexual a hero is as long as they don’t focus on that aspect to much, it should mainly focus how badass the character is. I understand that they should fix the clothes to some extent, but I can’t really imagine starfire wearing spandex pants.
