I honestly enjoyed that story. Felt like a touch of the old wrestling and the kind of stuff they haven't done for like 10 years since PG took full effect. It's nice to have some absurdity in there every now and then and storylines today are bit too straight-forward sometimes.

They actually did follow up on the shampoo commercial in WWE Crush Hour of all things. And I'd argue, with the power of hindsight anyway, that the notoriety of the custody match enhanced Rey and Dom's eventual feud. The fact Rey fought his best friend with everything he had to keep his boy only for said boy to become a little shithead and the envy of many Rhea Ripley fans (and Buddy Matthews lol).

Actually the Bunnymania match at WrestleMania 24 was after Maria had posed in Playboy. Ashley was a last minute replacement partner for Maria after Candice Michelle got injured. Ashley had a feud the year before with Melina after Ashley had posed.
