For the free placement on counters or tables, one trick I learned form Caryn and Connie was using a floor lamp as guide for where you want your object to be. Game changer.

Something I haven't seen people try to do is build with only premade rooms. lol There are so many premade rooms to choose from. I've made houses with them a few times in the past (partly out of laziness sadly) and it's kind of fun for me in a way. :) You could minimally edit the rooms after placing them or only add things to them, or you could be super strict with yourself and keep them the way they are. lol

Those curtains actually have some completely matching empty rail that you can use to fill out the space. You don’t need to use a shelf ☺️

Hi love your videos but im having a problem now with my sims 4 where when u try to move ur sims in the split from household...it doesnt work...ive googled and googles i tried everything suggested even reinstalling the game which btw gave me a problem as well an error with one of the packs called kids rooms. And idk how but i manged to get it to work after numerous tries. I also noticed ppl having the issues months ago but its now just happening to me. It upsetting becuase now i cant grow my families passed 8 becuase we can split them. Has thos happened to you and do u have any ideas to help? EA has no phone number and the chat annoys me trying to state my problem.

The dream home decorator modular cubes would, for a long time, show up EMPTY and dump all items on them into your household inventory every time you left the house and returned again - so if you left to go to an active career, then came home...all your shelves would be empty. I stopped using them bc of that - those ever get fixed?

If you want any toy boxes in your build or if there are any already in the build if it's not something you built or was edited by someone (Oh, and heaven forbid that _your_ stuff gets reuploaded, eh, reupload-phobic Gallery people?), you're placing kids' toys around as clutter, and you're planning to play Live Mode at all with the house or even visiting it with another household, I'm sorry to say that you're going to have to be disappointed because sims will put toys away into the toy box.

With cluttering one room at a time, I still do one room at a time but as I’m going through the catalog for the first room, anything I want for another room I purchase and immediately put it into the household inventory. Then all subsequent rooms I clutter out of the inventory. Accomplishes the same thing without jumping around the house as much.

I have adhd and I don't know if it's related by I always have big ideas for a build but easily get overwhelmed how to approach it because my attention goes from one room to another, to another lot and then to another game. Before watching, kind of random, but I love how the Sims Medieval (have been playing a ton recently, tbh I should have just bought Sims Medieval instead of wasting hundreds of dollars on sims 4 dlc) has doll-house like buildings when you're in them, so I want to recreate that in Sims 4. The problem I have with cluttering a computer desk is sometimes my sims won't use the computer on their own. I have to make them sit and then use it. If I command them to use it while they are standing, it will drop from the queue. BWT, your laugh is contagious!

On the other hand, you definitely have to put something on the right and left of the computer, otherwise they are going to leave empty dirty plates and drinking glasses there.

Oh wow, I knew about the gallery art stuff, but I had no idea people did the "kitchen clutter" and "bathroom clutter" stuff. That's going to save me SO much time I usually spend in the clutter tab. I really prefer to work one room at a time, but since clutter isn't sorted by room, that's never really an option. ty!

I love your DIY objects! However, the towel will snap to the wall if I try to place it on a counter and the curtains are just AWFUL! (I ended up placing them on the middle of the window and then moving them up with 9 and adjusting with Alt)

That Coolors website just makes me miss the color wheel in Sims 3. You could find the Hex or RGB of any color, enter it into the game and get precisely the color that you want. :-(

Remember Simmers, when using someone's art in your build, if you're going to upload the build to the gallery please give credit to the Simmer(s) who you got the art piece(s) from. It's nice to give credit for all the pieces you incorporate in your builds. If someone made an entire room you're placing down, remember to credit them for making that room. If you're renovating someone's build or shell, please credit them. You can credit the other Simmers in your upload's description space by #hashtaging their username. If you forgot to credit everyone before you uploaded that's ok, you can still credit them in your comments section for that upload. Giving credit where credit is due is an important habit to be in. Of course you don't need to do this if you're just incorporating it into your own personal save files you don't plan to later upload.

Those wall boxes (shelves) from HSY or DHD stack perfectly under staircases. They are perfect for a hallway storage space, I usually fill them with shoes and all sorts of clutter. You can literally fill the entire wall under the staircase with those boxes as the space is usually useless, and like I said... they stack perfectly.

I thought this piece 5:57 was always meant to go inside the tub or shower. But I also always play with move objects activated, I just can not stand playing with that off. So does it not snap inside those objects when that cheat is not activated? It is a rack of shampoo, conditioner, body washes and a bar of soap after all.

You missed the F5 key. Hit F5 and items snap half as far on the grid. Very handy for making things fit.

Just FYI, that curtain that you used the shelves to make it look like a rod, has actually a DIY curtain rod that came with the kit it was on. You did not need to use the shelves. Also another FYI, using the F5 key, it will allow you to place objects 1/8th of the square tile. And one more thing using alt + PgUp/Dn while the grid is on, will allow you to toggle the title on the floor levels, I actually learned that from your channel.
