I am still pretty new to growing but so far I have been successful. One thing that I do that I find helpful is my plant 'bases'. I use 5 gallon fabric (which are 12" dia.) sitting on 12" risers, sitting in 15" plastic pans, all sitting on a 12" lazy susan. It makes plant maintenance so much easier being able to easily spin the plant 360 degrees. Plus I keep changing the plants position to change how the lights hit. This has been working nice with the smaller autos I have been growing but, of course, wouldn't work on big plants.
@Energia-9772 жыл бұрын
That's interesting. The only problem I see is securing your plants either with a mesh or stakes. You couldn't move them then?

I run a 3x3 and 2.3x2.3 in my back shed, the smaller tent comes into the house for summer and runs the veg/auto cycle then goes back into the shed after summer and both tents run together for the remainder of the year. I find placing the exhaust fan outside the tent allows for more room, I also run both tents of the on exhaust through a Y piece fitted to the fan, as far as cheap tents go, I simply wouldn't do it! I use Mars Hydro tents and lights and do fairly well, however I will be trying Spider Farmer lights as they seem a little better as far as yield goes

I haven't watched this whole video yet one of the nicest things about a tent is that it is so much easier to control the environment I think than if you're doing the whole house when you're doing whole house you have to consider your comfort I'm in how the air in the heat may leak out but it's much more controllable with a tent

Depending on the light, you can remove the driver and mount it outside the tent, that will help a bit.

I'm in flower with my 1st ever grow so I got 4 different strains of autoflower's to start off with dry amendments and I've had a couple of bumps, I've not over watered like most 1st time growers tend to do but I did underwater 2 off my plants but managed to save them. I'm trying to figure out how it happened as I've been keeping a grow journal as I go, the only other thing I could come up with is that it could just be that 1 strain needs more water than the other strains. Any advice would be appreciated

Fan placement and placement under light can radically influence transpiration. It can easily cause a 5 gallon pot to dry out in half the time of the other 5 gallon pot in a different spot in your space.

In these smaller tents, I try to mount as much equipment outside the tent as possible (in-line fans, etc) to save space. I've just got 3 small tents (two 2 x 4's and a 2 x 2) and I've found that it is easier for me "simi-permanently" mount my lights 6 -8" below the ceiling of the tent and just use the dimmer rather than constantly adjusting the height of the fixture. I'll start at 30% (seedling) and slowly increase the intensity during veg., allowing the plant to grow to the light. With an app on my phone, I can fairly accurately calculate my PPFD & DLI, and with a bit of training I can still get a nice , even canopy, but it accommodates a stretchy-er structure or phenotype and improves air flow throughout the tent. It's been working for me, anyway! 🤷♂️ ✌️💚🌲🌏☮️

I have 11 full sized autos in there spilling out onto a bench outside the tent as i have to keep the door open. I love my jungle and i never bother keeping a journal or even label the plants, i do everything by eye. One of those autos is a 6oz so i think i get alot from 100watts. Jungle all the way for me.

I have a 4x4 and a 2x4 from mars hydro. I have small fans aimed down on the top of the lights to use them as a heater. I haven't needed a heater since. I highly recommend making some 15 gallon or larger living soil fabric containers. If you have a good soil mix, worms and a mulch layer, anything you plant into it will grow large and fast. Once you get everything dialed in, you don't need to feed. I water once a week, if that. It can be re used in a no till system - remove the mulch, add new organic matter, replace the mulch and plant right into it. For pest and mold control, I use em-5 mixed with quijalla 20 from build a soil for preventative spraying. It's 100% natural and gentle on the plants. It won't totally wipe pests out, but it controls their spread. It's best used during vegetative and early flower.
