I would not pay Fizz for perfection waivers to skip the monoliths because they are so incredible good. You will have to make them sooner or later anyways. The clock is slightly less useful but since you should already have your economy running when getting to that point, it is pretty nice to have so you don't have to worry about weeds and debris destroying your plants or placed items. When you get to the endgame, fast travel is the only way to go so you quickly can reach skull caverns without having to wait for a hangover Pam and so you can reach the island farm instantly without having to run to Willy's shack first. The return scepter is even more important even if it doesn't help perfection, it saves an incredible amount of time which is the only resource that really is a problem in the endgame. I use that scepter even on my farm when I need to go to the house, saving 20 or 30 seconds every time there is already worth a lot and doing it from anywhere is priceless. Totems just isn't sustainable in the long run.

I havent seen anyone mention this but if you use your sword to cut weeds and harvest most on green rain day it doesnt use energy

yeah def easier to progress on an existing save but might be more fun to experience all the changes on a new farm too!! 😁
