Hey, thanks for all the great tips, I took shield to my very first tournament, and I went undefeated at 2-0-1 and got 2nd place. I adjusted the list a little, adding in hulkbuster to help me deal with enemy big threats and to control the board more. Overall the games were great. The tie really hurt, I didn't do my research and got had by a Sabertooth Apex Predator that I didn't know everything that he could do.

Fantastic! Tip 1 is a big one, the games I seem to lose are the ones where I can't keep power on Fury jr. I've had opponents rage at the double "got your back" from Bucky and Howling commandos I've had an opponent almost throw models across the room when Hawkeye dazed Toad on Toad's activation due to Eye in the Sky schenanigans. They are an incredibly fun faction to play.

This is so good. First, it's so hard to access content that's 45-90 minutes long and it's refreshing to see something digestible. Second, your list is so aligned with my own experience that (1-2 are exactly what I would have said) then introduces some ideas I haven't been thinking about. Thanks! Edit: I get Iron Man and Winter Soldier. I haven't been able to get much production out of Nick Fury Sr. What is "good" about that unit?

This has been a mantra of mine when creating the channel but it isn’t the easiest thing in the world. You only have to look at my list building videos to see the video length spiral out of control. But I have been telling myself that I have a long form show with the podcast (you can find it linked in the description) so the KZbin channel should be fundamentally something different.

The howling commandos I consider to be one of the best units in the game. They have two very strong openers with turn 1 incinerate or turn 1 brothers in arms. They are incredibly toolbox-y. With lots of different things they can do to help the shield game plan.

As fun is a finite resource (I'd love to hear what you fully mean by that someday) I understand that when someone smashes that Like button it adds 1 to the total fun. This is really timely as I've got Nick Fury and the Agents on the painting table now and I look to be playing SHIELD as one of my factions. This is great stuff that will really help me. Thank you! I see Hawkeye is in your 10, but you don't bring up much, like he was in your picture of power 3s, but you didnt call him out. In my games he's been one of my most consistent contributors. Shock is such an amazing condition to put on enemy power models. Easy power generation, ignores the pesky cover, and has no issues dumping 10 power into Helios. Do you use him often?

So you have found one of the spots of rewrite that occurred in this video. I do play Hawkeye quite a lot but one I think I’m in the minority and two I wouldn’t put him in the power threes. He is good for all the reasons you listed and replaces Bucky into X-men (so he can ignore cover). If I did this video again I would try to have more cut aways to Hawkeye during the cover section.

Great stuff! How are you finding Shield on the new fast extract crises? I have been struggling to keep the balance of safe and relevant enough on victory points. When games end earlier I find it harder to swing the attrition before game. Grabted I have been testing out the new stuff, and it maybe will get better with slower combinations.

I find that shield is good enough at the crisis to stay close. Then you combine that with the leadership and you really only need one big turn to swing the win. I think shield just has to play a bit more of a tempo game than true attrition.

@@VincentCurkov I guess it is some familiarity with the new crisis as well. Quick games I feel I lean to heavily to have Bucky and Iron Man roll well. And if they dont it can be tough. Especially when Iron Man doesnt care for rolling wilds 😅 Longer games I feel they almost always even out their rolls. Particularly Bucky.

How would you do an open missions approach? type D and C thank you

So for a D mission you approach kind of like you are playing a B with a 2 fronts approach. Split your guys in half and play one guy playing for the scenario while the others provide fire support. As always we can fall a bit behind on scenario as long as we are getting ahead on attrition. For a C (or an I) you ideally want to push hard on a flank win it quickly and then pivot the game into an E shape.
