Just picked up Fury and She-Hulk yesterday. Went tall instead of wide cuz I was too excited about new models 😅 but really liking them so far! Thanks for the video, definitely helped me understand the strengths and weaknesses.

I stand by that statement. It reminds me very much of cannon rush in star craft. Good at the low levels but once someone knows how to beat it it’s pretty bad.

Thanks Vincent for this! I've been staring at Warmachine quite a bit, but not used him yet. I'll give him some time now. If you are playing Scoundrels try giving Sam Wilson a flex too - he ignores the cover and has great synergy with the team using Air Lift. I definitely agree with how you feel about Helios Laser and that the team will need it to put down a troublesome character every so often. I think there's room for Shieldmobile in some opening gambits where you put Nick in danger to grab an otherwise dangerous and know that one activation won't kill him. In addition, with this and Sitrep you can do some fun late turn plays with Agent Widow to move her in to place for a safer Interrogation.

In which opening gambits do you think fury & shield mobile work well? I’m not the biggest fan of agent widow. She is kind of a less durable warmachine in many ways and the 3 threat slot is so contested in shield.

Hood is really good with shield. Hoods gang is great for all those attacks, and having some mystic can be game winning. Ironman and Warmachine really enjoy the healing.

Hood is interesting here. The multiple attacks from rapid fire play into the shield game plan. And the damage reduction means he could front line if need be. I don’t hate it.

Hello, loved the video, I have way less games with them, like 5ish, and I got some nice info here, like I never thought about aggresive Venom that sounds great. Now for my quesiton to you, have you thought about or tested runing research station as a crisis? as I understand the grunt can hold it, since it's an extract, yet functions more like a secure, or do you not like that more grindy game that happens, less scenario? From how I see it, the pros are that they have to spend at least one attack to deal with the grunts to not give up control of the researcher, that will very often lead to wintersoilder getting some shots in. The con is that you have to put the grunt more up there and they die and you get less value out of them if you cannot use thier attacks, granted if you have prio you could activate nick first and if they were already in play you get to use them, but most of the time they are dead. Just curious if you have tested it and what your thoughts are.

So researcher was my first instinct when shield was released. I find that you are really giving up the strongest aspect of fury’s grunts. Which is buy you time (the extract drop gimmick.)

I do not have a shield game recorded. RTL takes a ton of time to make and I don’t even have my shield models painted 🙃. I want to get a shield game on camera soon though.

I’m playing around with stuff now. Looking to do an update soonish. Playing around with Shuri and task master. I also put sit rep in for field dressing. Overall the update was very good for us.

I've played a bunch of games with Shield, I kind of agree on "The Shield Mobile". It's super powerful but most of the time when I take it I never use it.

It is very strange how this card of it was in something like black order or brotherhood would be unbelievably powerful but in shield is pretty meh.

Do you explain why not use Lethal Protector? I thought I heard you mention it, but I can't find the explanation on rewatch. And does rotation change your mind on it?

I’m not sure I explain why in the video but it comes down to power economy and opportunity cost. Essentially venoms power is super strained and it becomes hard to play this card and still threaten the snack back. Second the slots are super tight in the five since shield has so many good tactics cards. Rotation didn’t effect my cards a ton but I have started to play sacrifice which serves the same role as lethal protector but with more flexibility of who you play it on.

I've been slowing accumulating games with SHIELD over the last couple of weeks. I've found them to be a very complex affiliation, and I've blatantly just ripped off your two lists so far. I've been bouncing a couple of alternative 4-threats prior to my War Machine getting assembled, and I had some luck with Vision and Black Panther replacing Voodoo. Obviously Vision is great at taking a bunch but not ideal at flip scenarios where defence matters, but his beam was pretty tasty, and he tends to end up with an abundance of power that he can't do much with, other than Rapid Phasing. As always, really appreciate the content, and I look forward to getting more games in with SHIELD.

So the cheese pieces are fury, reposition, Wong, and advanced R&D. You play it on wakandan herbs. It’s hard for me to go all out on that kind of list because I think it’s bad. But if I had to I would take a good hard look at inhumans. Their leadership really opens up turn 1 shenanigans. Also you could do this exact play in inhumans.

Great video! I have decided I like Hulk over She-Hulk in SHIELD. He just does most things better then her and his size for is big! Losing the SHIELD heal on him hurts some but he is a workhorse!!

Attacking and killing a grunt can be kind of like staggering yourself. That’s damage I think most people would prefer to put into my “real” characters. But they also are way more durable than they seem. Assuming that they have the fury reroll a vanilla 5 die attack is 50/50 to kill them.

The problem with Fury’s “ideal turn” is that it’s incredible easy to disrupt by bopping the grunts. Then instead of generating power from their attacks, Fury is paying to bring them back and they don’t get to activate. Then they just get bopped again. Almost any character can reliably one shot them.

Yeah, this is one of the small problems I have been having as well. It doesnt feel good to bring out Grunts after they have died, unless I have power to do the spender right away as well. Bringing them out, and likely temporarily turning off Eye in the Sky feels like a huge price at times. Maybe I should play them more defensive when not runnning for an aggressive extract pickup

Managing Fury’s power is a huge part of playing the faction. It’s incredibly rare for me to give up a potential eye in the sky to bring the grunts back. When I do bring them back it is either to extend fury’s pickup range or I put them way back out of easy access for my opponent. Almost no one will walk attack a grunt in the mid game. It just feels so bad.

Yeah without the grunt he is probably below the curve but eye in the sky might be the best character tactics card in the game so I’m sure how you properly judge that.
