Hit next area waypoints before completing steps that reset previous areas. The area will still reset but you can go directly to the waypoint rather than clear again. If you’re going to make multiple, save 1 no level requirement rare weapon and armor from your 1st.

But this is NOT how armor works in POE 2. The armor formula is the same as the one in POE 1, meaning that the percentage mitigation you get depends on the size of the incoming hit. The bigger the hit, the less effective your armor value is. This means that stacking up armor makes it MORE effective, not less. The only problem is that it does not scale properly in the end game, making armor more or less useless unless it is stacked up extremely high. Kripparian did a video on this I think yesterday.

The armor mitigation formula is like this: Dmg reduction = armor / (armor + 5 * damage). For example, let's say you have 2000 armor and the enemy hits for 1000, your damage reduction would be 2000 / 7000 = 28.6% mitigation. If you had 4000 armor instead, it would be 4000 / 9000 = 44.4 % mitigation. If you had 20000 armor it would be 20000 / 25000 = 80% If the enemy hit instead of say, 5000 damage, it would be like this: 2000 armor: 2000 / 27000 = 7.4% 4000 armor: 4000 / 29000 = 13.8% 20000 armor: 20000 / 45000 = 44.4 % What the game shows you in game is an AVERAGE expected hit from a monster of your level, this is "misleading" in that it says nothing about what is actually happening. Perhaps I should not have said it was "more effective" to stack more armor without nuance. It is "more effective" against weaker hits. The maximum mitigation is 90%. This resulting damage is what determines whether you get stunned. A hit needs to do a certain % of your hp in damage to get you stunned, that is why getting more mitigation and more health will protect you from stuns. This is also why converting incoming damage to elemental is very good. For example, lets say you convert 20% damage to fire in the above example: You take 200 fire and 800 physical damage against 2000 armor, 75% fire resist, then you would take 50 fire and 533 phys, or 583 total damage vs the 714 you would take otherwise. The 20% fire conversion is almost as effective as getting the 2000 extra armor. Now the question whether armor + evasion is better than stacking one, I do not agree with that because I find low armor values ineffective and would rather have other stats instead (block, max resists, damage conversion, more evasion), but I am not an expert at all in this form of hybrid defenses.

Yea 80% armor is almost never going to give you that kind of resistance, maybe if your lucky against small white trash mobs. Look up the armour reduction formula based on the amount of the hit.

There is more that can happen if you Vaal the Skill-Gem 🙂. In addition to what you mentioned it can also do nothing at all (and just get corrupted), it can give you a random amount of quality and it can reduce the quality. Those are the ones I experienced so far. So the chance to hit the +1 should be 1:7

What he also doesn't mention is that you should max out your skill gem first. Get it to +20% quality (if it's worth doing so, some skill have useless quality stat). And only then use a vaal orb. You can lvlup skill gems after corrupting it, so that's not an issue.

@@lolowski6826 That would be a big risk though...gemcutters prisms are not that common, and the chance to get the socket is fairly low. It's more of a quick and easy way to get 4 sockets until you get your hands on a greater jewellers orb. Then use the greater jewellers orb on a skill you really wanna keep and max out.

I recently started practicing visiting all the vendors from 6 Acts and buying quality and items with sockets. Each time I level up I'll visit them and buy everything with quality and sockets. They are especially cheap in earlier acts, so definitely worth your 5 min after you level up.

Evasion scales so much better than armor. I'm an acolyte monk, and I got my evasion all the way to 83%. Along with grim feast and 1600 energy shield, I rarely die unless I messn up and get packed by the mobs. Unfortunately, now it takes 1200 more evasion rating for just 1% more.

Piece of diminishing returns information as an example (fictional numbers, but the point stands): - When you get 1000 armor, and it'd bring you from 0 to 20%, that's a dmg decrease of 20%. - That same 1000 armor could also bring your Armor from 60 to 68% . Which is also a dmg decrease of 20%. Yes, your number no longer went up with the same 20% points, but the "leftover" of the dmg was 40%. But that 8% point increase represents 20% of 40.

I think the bigger thing to know is that the armor '% reduced' is a flat out lie, since that's not how armor works. Armor reduction is proportional to the amount of physical damage a hit carries relative to your armor rating. 5x the damage in armor is roughly the listed % reduction in damage taken IIRC, and as damage goes above that, the % rapidly drops off a cliff. Thus armor is only of use vs many small hits, and does nothing to prevent being one shot. (This is also why % of physical taken as X is so powerful, as the armor check is after that conversion.) Edit: to use an example from his video itself, he has roughly 5k armor which supposedly does 60% reduction in physical damage. But that's only true if the hit is 1k damage. It scales up as the hit is weaker and down as the hit is bigger, so a hit for 2k is likely only being reduced by 30% or less. Meanwhile Evasion is a flat % to not be hit. (with some modifiers based on accuracy that mean melee suffers compared to ranged.)

Tip 1: Knew. Tip 2: Knew Tip 3: Don't forget you can reforge the jewels if they're still bad after upgrade. Tip 4: Knew Tip 5: Knew Tip 6: Knew, Don't forget you can turn 3 t1s into a t2 with reforge, 3 t2s into a t3, and so on. Don't forget you can use distilled items from delirium to buff a map as well. 3 ires on a map is huge. Tip 7: Knew, Don't forget there are a couple passives on the passive tree that say things like 2 evasion per 1 energy shield on equipped helmet, or 100% increased evasion of equipped bodyarmour. Its huge. Tip 8: Knew, Don't forget a lot of monk abilities say things like "Converts Phys to Lightning", so 5-10 phys damage on a piece of gear means more to you than 6-12 fire damage, as you've probably also picked up some increased lightning damage somewhere. Tip 9: Knew, but it will usually be cheaper to quality an item and buy a greater jewellers orb instead of vaaling a lesser thats been qualitied. Qualitying a gem and praying to hit is overall a worse gamble as far as $ is concerned. Tip 10: Knew, get an item filter so you can see socketted items on the ground easier. I don't pick up most of mine now because I see so many. No reason to buy from shop once you're in maps. Came for tips, left with an expectation of hat-eating. Either way, buffing maps with distilled ires is huge and worth it. The rest of the distilled not so much. Look into it.

Id ad, I find the most useful thing to do with vaal orbs is to vaal bad jewels. This can reroll the jewel, add a good implicit, or (idk if this exists in POE2) make it into a unique jewel. If you are crafting jewels up to 3-4 lines I feel like its always worth it to hit a vaal orb and see if you just stumble into something decent.

@@teeq985 I totally get you. I'm so used to zipping through maps in POE 1, Merc is just a complete opposite. I always prioritize life (above 100 if possible) and 1 res (above 30). You can always add a socket for a 2nd res. As for crafting, it actually makes more sense and value to just search on trade than to slam exalts on it. Omens and greater essences will cost much more now that you're still at early game

Be warned, if you juice a map, make sure you can handle it, it is very dangerous to juice maps for nodes with pre-existing contents such as bosses, expeditions etc, because if you fail you lose your chance at it, however, if you can take it on, it is often worth it for the rewards.

If I was you I would use exulted orbs to buy op gaar of the trading site it's really easy to use and alot of op gear is only 1 exult orb. All you have to do while game is open is whisper direct from trade then right click on sellers name in the game chat panel inv to party warp then trade... I did this I went from unplayable from caravan to beating the last act 3 boss in a couple hours solo

Herald of Ice is super strong. Most OP builds I'm seeing are using herald of ice interaction and usually converting lightning to freeze. For survivability it seems people go evasion/nrg shield and go grim feast or meditation to double stack nrg shield. I play hardcore and keep dying in act 2 myself, but these are what I'm trying currently lol.

Biggest tip i can give is to read the ingame tool tips. A significant amount of systems have changed going from POE1 to POE2 far beyond the obvious. Most of those changes are cataloged in the tooltips though.

For that last tip...I much prefer to save leveled or nice yellow gear for alts...then on a alt you can just disenchant/salvage EVERYTHING, as all low level stuff yields the same but the stuff costs 100s not 1000s...I made an alt to play with friends and my main funded my alt playthrough. Same goes for skill gems, act 1 new alt is unlocking lvl 3 supports and full yellow gear I keep.

Thank you for the tips. I'm new to the Path of Exile serie (I'm playing PoE2) and I didn't know some of those tips. I am still trying to increase my DPS on both my Fireball Stormweaver and Boneshatter Warbringer. I sometimes found a piece of equipment with +X to skills (which I used) but my overall DPS is still low. I can't find/craft good gear (bad luck on my side) and with limited money it's kinda hard to craft a lot. I don't have the currency exchange yet. No idea when I'll be getting it. Right now I'm in Act 3 with my Witch trying to kill a boss (I failed but I was close to killing it) which I think will allow me to have the currency exchange after rescuing the npc (she was captured by the Viper)?? I'll craft more whenever I can.

My experience from trying increase socket level on gems with Val Orb: 1/6 attempts successfull, 3/6 Item level decreased, 2/6 Nothing happened at all. I got better odds on the Blackjack table.

No hat eating here. I knew some of them but not the skill tree tip. One word of caution about skill increase items. As your skill levels increase so does your mana cost. I got a bombard xbow with +5 to skill levels and I already had 1 from gemling and 2 from a necklace. It was a bit too much as I was running out of mana too rapidly. So, you may need to shelve a good bow for a little while until you have some mana sustain.

I've been having an issue with the info tips on the skill tree. It will inaccurately display how much damage a skill does or how much armor/evasion/energy shield I have. When I look at my character screen it says one thing. When I press info on a potential upgrade it says another, usually lower, number. Also, I don't understand how having 500 dps on a skill and choosing a 10% upgrade only brings the dps to like 515

Buying items with sockets also works with superior items having +quality and salvage those. Never played poe1, I really like this game, but my sorc felt weak. Solution: Trade a good weapon for 1/2/3 exalted orbs and salvage every wand/staff/focus you find to upgrade your newest toy

if you upgrade a Gem, used Tier / Level 14, with the „Gemcutter Prism" and then use a new uncut Gem with a higher Tier, does that remove or reset the +20% of the Gemcutter? Or does it keep the +20% and you can upgrade it without any problems?

it should stay quality, you are upgrading the gem, not replacing it. You can even continue upgrading corrupted gems.

Just literally to farm Relics.. nothing else. after that you want to get more tokens that says "2" trials.. then find the "3" trials.. to get more ascendancy points.. Basically you loop that. You farm lower trails for relics.

For your last tip, cheaper items means lower item level, lower item level means that it gives less when broken, or at least that was the case in poe1, so test it since I can't play to test it myself

It's not true, the only thing that matters for how many Artificer's Shards you get is how many sockets an item has. 1 Socket = 1 Shard, 2 Sockets = 2 Shards, 10 Shards = 1 Artificer's Orb

It only shows dps increase with skills, nothing else. And the dps In the game is not very accurate anyways. Cant wait for path of building to support poe 2

Left out that you can take 3 of thr same map level and rarity quality and reform them to the next higher tier. So if you have 3 level 4 maps, you can turn it i to a level 5 map.

No you do not, monster level depends on the item level of the key you use to enter the trial

@@thetexasdolly7885 man its confusing,. so i have one of the round keys,. that says i can get asc point on it if i use it. i had to go to cruel 1 or 2 to be able to put it in,. i finished the run, and nothing happened, other than 2 bad affixses from the run was saved on it, and my own benefishial things i put in. Then what? Dident get my point at the throne in the treasure/key room. What did i do wrong?

i wouldnt recommend going by the physical dmg reduction estimate. during gameplay its hard to estimate how hard certain enemies hit and you dmg mitigation is calced off incoming dmg. dont get me wrong good indicator for upgrades but i wouldnt take it as fact
