I'm retired fa. Interviewed when I was 19. I did not have what they wanted. Was not hired. I got older and matured. Recruiters hired me immediately. Recruiters are looking for certain things. Working alone, handling different situations, working with team. You must be able to handle emergencies. They are looking for "it". You have or you don't. You are born to be a fa. You will always have that helping manner, kind to others,if you see someone who needs assistance, you react automatically, and help.thats a fa.good luck

These tips are great for Anyone interviewing for Any type of customer service based career. Using names is HUGE! I had spoken with a manager wearing a name badge and walked away and then walked back to her, apologized and asked how to pronounce her name because I don't want to butcher it. She told me to come back in 3 days for an interview and I was offered the job then hired within days of my background check clearing. Asking and Using names shows your confident & personable.

Chris: Please do remember that there are 1000s of flight attendant wannabes at the interview, in other words there are literally thousands of applicants for limited number of jobs.......you could be the finest candidate but still not get hired, they simply don't have enough vacancies! Just do you best and remember you have at the most a 50% chance of getting hired ( if you apply to a major airline). What you can do however, is to become like white on rice and keep on applying till the cows come home. Most airlines let you reapply after 6 months. Best of luck!!

Although I’m too old to do this I found it interesting. I applied with United back in the early 1960’s and was close to being hired but had to disclose I wore contacts, but at that time there were only hard contacts and they had a tendency to pop out once in a while. Because my vision was about 20/40 the concern was an event like an emergency and what would happen if my lens came off. So I was applying in the wrong decade. 😊

_One of the very best tips was something your Grandfather always said, make sure that your shoes are shined. (Damn good point). Going back almost forty-four years I remember the second interview like it was yesterday. (I also remember having a custom tailored business suit to look very professional. Interesting I was just past twenty, yet had the confidence they were looking for. Granted things have changed in four decades, like facial hair grooming standards for men). I do think you're incredibly personable Kat(Pat was so cute), and certainly leave a great impression on your passengers. At the end of the day, I say this will knowledge and experience, you are the beautiful face of your airline and what flight attendants should aspire to be._
