Growing up in Germany, I never appreciated it. I thought it was boring compared to the US and other countries. So I lived in the US, Spain and the UK for almost two decades combined. I returned to Germany 6 years ago. Now I appreciate it so so much and know I'm lucky to have been been born here. I love that you feel similar whiteout of course loving you home country any less :)

All great German suggestions/things! I get more and more excited listening to your videos as I'll be moving to Germany next year. I just wanted to mention that in Canada we also have Stockbrot. It is called Bannock on a stick. It is likely passed down from an indigenous or European culture though. I'm hopeful that it is equally as delicious!

Who stuffs Stockbrot with ... Nutella? There needs to be enough garlic butter in one piece to scare all the vampires out of town. That's its purpose! (Besides that campfires always are fun.) Oh, Weihnachtsmärkte! Yes, I used to love them, until I helped selling Christmas decoration on one of these markets, and I swear, I didn't get that Christmas music out of my ears until Easter. Maybe I should have drunk Glühwein not AFTER, but BEFORE work. (But it was one of the student jobs I liked most, and I still recommend it. You meet so many different people, it's amazing.) I don't want to miss out on your other 90 things, so I finally subscribed to your channel.

Moin Arno!

I wrote this in the past as a suggestion for a career choice for you and watching your "things I like about Germany" videos only confirms that notion: it's a complete mystery to me why you haven't been approached by various tourist centers in Germany to become a "brand ambassador" (Markenbotschafterin) for our country. With your bubbly personality and obvious passion for this country they definitely could not do better! In regards to your "almost hotel acquisition" I'd like to say that in that case I'd be tempted to give it the Udo-Lindenberg-approach and apply for a permanent residency just to experience the real life Jenna in person from time to time...😉😁🥰🥰 And yes, I can't wait to see an upcoming video featuring your mom and what she has to say for herself for tagging winter along with her from Canada to over here!🤡🤣💛💛

Those baby changing stations must be new. When my kids were tiny in the 1980s, out local "dm" had the nappies, baby food and clothes UPSTAIRS with no lift. I stood there with my pram and toddler, wondering how on earth to manage. I did write a letter to the manager and some time later, I noticed that the baby department had been moved downstairs. Nowhere to change or sie and feed a baby though.

What I love about Germany is, that we host people from all over the world without forgetting our traditions. Furthermore I love our food like raw minced pork, Bratwurst, cabage-dishes, everything with potatoes and food coming from our foreign fellows like Döner, Pizza, Icecream, Chinese-food and finally of course for me as a "Nordhesse" the "Ahle Wurscht" (a sort of Salami but better - airdryed or smoked).

Hi! Nice video about living in Germany! Thanks for that! Yes, the Netherlands are the number one cycling nation, without question and have probably overtaken the Chinese ;-)). But I would miss the variety there, the country is just too flat ;-)) Of course you can also think it's good not to have to climb hills or even mountains.
