Mathew Bacon Sellars flew before the Wright Brothers. As a matter of fact, the Wright Brothers visited him and stole his air dynamics research papers. President William Howard Taft appointed Sellars over his Aerospace program that later became NASA. All in a book by his granddaughter, Barbara Sellars.

When I was in the 8th grade, I asked a substitute teacher why the father bird (the male) couldn’t sit on the nest and keep the eggs warm. I was promptly told to go home and have a talk with my father about the birds and the bees. I know teaching is difficult, but junior high school students can be ruthless.

See when I was in school a long time ago I was the kind of kid that got in trouble not really in trouble but I annoyed the teachers because a lot of things didn't make sense I was the WHY kid and I wanted to know everything about everything. You know how many times I got kicked out of class for like 5-10 minutes just to stop annoying the teacher I should say well I did it with a lot of my teachers so yeah with all of my teachers anyway I got kicked out for a bit so that I could stop being what they called quote and quote disruptive to the other kids so history was interesting to make in that fact of why why why why and now finding out more and more that history's to spend nothing but a lie I'm just so glad to know that I kept asking why and this is funny that's why I don't like to be lied to and all throughout history we've been lied to so in all reality like history is nothing but lies don't believe anything history tells you cuz now that my daughter is 11 she's going to learn the same garbage that I'm going to be reading teaching her the real truth

Did you have that teacher that you could ask a question on just about anything and know the ensuing answer would burn at least 15 to 20 mins of class. For the most part I did this when not ready for the lesson. But found the stories told were so much more than burning time and how my love of The How and Whys really grew. There is always one if lucky two teachers each year who made the class really something to look forward two and the reason I kept As in Science and Social Studies. I so hate how books and the printed word are falling away. Each book a world unto itself that only required good light with no charger. The pictures painted in the minds eye better than anything one can find on todays LCD screens. So Thank you Mr. Stokes, Mr. Hill and Mrs. Lenard

When my biology teacher in college was explaining that people who live in the north or far south are very white, those around the equator are black. I asked why there were no white Africans in the south of Africa and why are Eskimos almost black. He got so angry he could not speak. It seemed to me that they took too few facts came up with a theory then treated it like facts.

None of these are new to me but I graduated HS in 1980. We were actually taught to think for ourselves utilizing truths ie facts, instead of feelings. Kids in the USA over the past 20 years have had their heads filled with more reimagined societal history bullsh!t that they can’t function normally. Imagine what it’ll be like in another 20 years. Mush filled robots who only have an over-inflated sense of self importance. We are doomed if something isn’t done NOW. I taught my children facts. What are you teaching yours?

You are wrong about the Puritans and their celebration to offer thanks. William Bradford's writings are clear that they did come together with Ousamequin Massasoit and his people. The Wampanoags eventually brought three deer to the feast. The relationship was not perfect, but during the lifetime of Massasoit and William Bradford, it did last. And the Puritans did have feasts. Fasts were for specific religious reasons, but not for marking celebrations.

Ponce de Leon was looking for the thermal waters ,that were good for his arthritis. Them waters were in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷, 5 towns down the highway 🛣. The towns name COAMO. No need to go to Florida, in 1513, but he make history nonetheless by being the first Spanish Colony in the USA 🇺🇸 The Mayflower arrived 107 years later 1620.
