Toxic people are more accurately described as people who routinely exhibit behaviors that are negative, unhealthy, and debilitating to others. Do you have a toxic person in your life? While these behaviors are toxic, it is important to recognize that the person may be fighting emotional battles of their own. However, we should still be more aware of people like this because they can have a huge impact on your performance and happiness.
If some of these types described you and you're feeling guilty of engaging in some of these negative behaviors yourself, but you're still unsure if you're really becoming toxic, we've also made a video on the signs you've become a toxic person: • 7 Signs You're Becomin...

@@alexiswilson3769 The definition of argue is to have differing perspectives and discussing it. "Argument" doesn't mean a angry or loud or abusive, but it's been twisted to become that when discussing relationships. Two people can argue while laughing, but it crosses the line into abusive arguments when toxicity and the point becomes to dominate the other's opinion using bullying tactics. A disagreement is stating differences of opinion. An argument is making the case for those perspectives. Discussions develop around discovering arguments and perspective. You can argue that a square is a rectangle without raising your voice or throwing things, right? How about what movie to watch or what books you like? Don't worry, I grew up believing "argument" meant shouting and slapping and putting my younger siblings to bed early so they wouldn't get caught up in it and hit repeatedly. But it doesn't mean that exclusively, and believing so does the word and conversation as a whole a disservice.

I realized my closest friends were toxic so one day, I just left them and by that I mean I ignored all the messages, I ignored the calls and I just cut them off. Best thing ever. Was it hard? On "The User", I don't think that there's anything wrong with talking to someone only for assignments or work, since maybe you don't know each other well and it's the only subject you can talk about at first. The red flags are when they refuse to return the favor when you ask for help, and the relationship doesn't progress from acquaintances to good friends.

Well! Yea I do agree with you . But I do think it is toxic, as I’ve been there before. I’ll explain why? I never made any friends during my high school and people were racist to me due to the complexion I taht I’m in. I did not take it to my heart as I was a grown up, but I did have one person who comes up to me and talks to me, the only way I could make friends was by helping whatever he needed. I was pretty desperate to make friends back then. So I didn’t care how much he used me. After a year I realised he was just using me for his needs and I didn’t make any progress in a friendly relationship with him too either. The conversation starts up like “ hey man, I’ve been stuck in this shit . Can u help me out” and it was never like “ hey man. How are you doing?” Maybe I was stupid back then, but I was desperate to make a friend. “The user” kind of relationship outside the working world (school or office) makes a huge difference rather than working as an acquaintance for a particular project.

Yeah, I agree.. I like to be alone most of the times and I currently don't wanna become close to people.. So, I only talk when necessary.. I'm worried I might come off as a toxic person.. But it's not like I won't help people when they need me..

I think they didnt explain well this part. But I've been there. By users means when they pretend to be a closer person for you, but their intentions are based on what they can get from you. Is so much more that just a homework or help on a activity at work. Is when they pretend to care for your things only when they need something. Or they ask if you're ok, but they not aiming to listen actually, and then ask for some kinda of favor or just want for you to be always the listener or provider of something in that relationship.

Once upon a time there was a sparrow flying in a winter storm. Exhausted from fighting the high winds he landed in a pasture to rest. Along came a cow who, not paying any attention to the sparrow, took a big crap that buried the bird. Now the sparrow was disgusted, but soon realized he was actually quite warm in there, so decided to stay. Not long later a cat came along and noticed the sparrow sitting there. He took the bird out of the pile and brought him inside. The cat then drew a bath for the sparrow, and cleaned all the crap from his feathers. Then ate him. Moral of the story: not everyone who shits on you is your enemy. Not everyone who takes you in and cleans you up is your friend.

If you can't get the toxic person out of your life yet, you got to emotionally cut them off a bit. Making a "mental barrier" can sound like BS, but it's helped me a lot with my toxic folks. Getting those people distanced or out the door are important for your health. Maybe make a safe/happy space to destress. You can also make mantras for self power or positive affirmations, sometimes you gotta be your own bff when you feel trapped. :'( good luck

I have met a toxic friends who is jealousy and the user. That's why I have a high standard when it comes to friends, my mom always says that I shouldn't let this people use me and just be jealous of the things that I have and they just feel insecure about their selves. Those toxic friends that i currently have always shows off out of nowhere, always make assumptions about me even though it's not true. Toxic and jealous friendship won't last long because if they kept on doing this thing that we don't like about them. They always gossip about me because I have the things that I want and they never receive any of the things that I have. That's why I prefer less friends but at least they're true friends and always not using me and getting jealous on that things that I have and they're more supportive and care about me. I think something to bear in mind is that with people who have emotional outbursts, it’s just as important to look at how they behave AFTER their outburst as DURING. I know I personally have a hard time processing my emotions due to my ASD (also maybe bipolar disorder, but no official diagnosis on that one yet) and can sometimes snap at people when they’ve done nothing to deserve it, BUT, I also try to apologize and take responsibility for my behavior as soon as I’m no longer emotionally volatile. I’ve also been taking active measures to try and improve my ability to self regulate. I wouldn’t necessarily think of myself as a toxic person, as I tend to think a major factor in a person’s “toxicity” is if they try to improve or not. A truly toxic person would more often than not make no sincere attempt at self improvement and just force everyone else to try and deal with them.

It's insane because this is spot on. I dealt with so much forms of toxic individuals throughout my transgressions and growth process; belittling someone should never be that goal and shouldn't be a competitor. I've always felt as if I'm in that area in my life which is very stressful and hard to understand. I want to be able to heal and complete others' while getting the same in return. Sometimes I wonder having empathy and compassion for others' breaks people such as myself.

I was once friends with someone who tried to gaslight me and the rest of our friend group into thinking that I was no.7, when in reality they were just highly manipulative, scheming and triggering. He observed me and questioned me to find my triggers and insecurities and then used them against me. Crafting situations for me to erupt from 'his' efforts and then he sits back and smiles or laughs and says, "look what 'you' have done, you are too sensitive, too volatile, too emotional, too aggressive. This is 'your' fault." He really tailored these situations and knew full well what would happen and how to make it happen, he just pushed and pushed you closer to the edge until you do what he planned, and he literally does it for his own entertainment. He even went as far as to tell me that people who use the words such as trigger, sensitive, or trauma are all crazy and stupid and childish and that they have no problems other than being annoying when I tried to talk to him about how i was feeling, and I framed it in reference to my past and how that might have contributed to the situation, but all he could do in response was slate me with criticism and imply that he was never in the wrong and that I am just attacking him. He genuinely enjoyed torturing us and I really believe that he will grow up to be a psychopath or serial killer or something along those lines, even his own mother told me that she was concerned about his mental state, and that there is troubling medical history in their family, and he has done and said many more despicable things. Sorry for the rant/vent, ha-ha.

Random very true fact : You know, no parents doesnt love their childs, sure te media want them potrayed as the villain, but child abuses are always caused by either stres, trauma or mental ilnesses!! They are dying deep inside too! They needed help!! If it wasnt for the stress, they wouldnt do such things to their childs! Even psycologist cnfirmed that! And Jesus loves you so much, He always did, He's thinking about u a lot and He wants you to surrender it all to Him and give your life to Him :) I love you too
