There are many suppliers that have TA but don't want to use it making excuses to lure you to buy directly to them. It's too many to report to. Alibaba is not doing a good job screening these scammers. How to spot them fast go to details and if they say for you to whatsapp them their own agenda is for you to pay them off the site.

Hi Suraj, yes you can pay from wire transfer. Remember to pay to the supplier's bank account which Alibaba trade assurance send to you, not the supplier's account which supplier send to you.

The most effective way is go the the official webiste if where the certification is issued, and contact them to verify if it's real.

I was stressed out cause it was a gift for my husband birthday but well a friend got me introduced to hackbeign on Insta he recovered her scammed money so I took a try he asked a few questions and some proofs. If you are not 100% sure that the supplier is legit and reliable. Then make sure you need to place order and finish the transaction via trade assurance. Asking for Whatsapp nunber, Ins Facebook account is normal, because they want to know more about you, or have more close connect with with you.

I'm trying to buy a machine, an interlocking brick/block machine, Although you mention very informative video, I understand you can not cover everything. I am new to importing big ticket product (also, I on;y want to start a new business with limited budget). Them machine ranges from 2,000 to 25,000 USD. My worry is I try to check their credibility, and you are right, one that I contacted has not any certification. On their site when I look for certification, it just said iso, not even capitalized. right away it give me a red flag. The other thing is when they send me the quotation sheet, I noticed that instead of 30% down, they are asking 100% (full payment) before the machine will start in production. My question to you is; how can I haggle them and get a lower price.? Since so many company that everyone has different prices. And the machine I try to buy is usually sold by one unit/set. (Some kind with fully automated cost more than 100,000 USD. Thank you and hope you give me a good advise.

I'm sorry, but it's a complete ripoff buying from China and you probably end up getting better prices on the home front. 95% of Chinese sellers refuse to ship by China Post AIR which means the shipping costs are far above the normal price. In addition, when the goods arrive you will be subject to a string of brokerage fees and import and duty fees that can add up to as much as 60% of your entire order value. So, whatever you order can basically cost you DOUBLE to your entire order amount with shipping. And that's not cheap. The shipping costs have already trippled the price of the goods, and if you have to add another 60% to that you are paying 4x the price for goods. For example, order value $100, shipping $200, import fees $180 = $480 for an order worth only $100. Not exactly a good deal - unless you order in very large quantities, but you'd be mad to order from China any large orders without going there in person since the sample qualities they send may not reflect anything you get in a larger shipment and there is no way for you to ever get a refund. Therefore, blind orders can only be placed in smaller quantities which becomes exessive.

It's fine. There will be two reasons that they ask you go to Whatsapp than Alibaba message center. 1. They got too many messages (from clients or junk promoting message) , so they think it will be better to communicate with you in Whatsapp. 2. They want to get more sticked to you. Maybe you will send inquiry to 10-20 suppliers, and their messager will be easily get ingored. By using Whatsapp, they can be sure that al message will get readed.

- Regarding 'Trade Assurance': say you want to know how that works, because you don't want to just assume that since the logo is an impressive 'gold shield,' and apparently represents a certification by the awesome giant that is Alibaba.com, it must be trustworthy. Alibaba.com brought Jack Ma the first pot of gold, but now it only contributes around 1 billion USD revenue, but the whole Alibaba group has 500 billion USD revenue, only 2%, according to the data of 2019. They probably don't care much about the B2B market, because they are already the dominant one in the world. Then number of buyers on Alibaba won't increase too many every year, but the number of suppliers is always raising, as Alibaba.com's revenue is going up, and the cost for suppliers to get good buyer's inquiry is doubled too. Hope there will be some other B2B site to challenge Alibaba, or take him down. Otherwise, Alibaba.com won't make any changes.

@@Jingsourcing I found at least one vendor on MadeInChina.com, but as I used the site a bit more, found that I'd been assuming - incorrectly - that they did anything at ALL to assist/monitor/police payments and buyer satisfaction. Either this was never true, or it's gone now, so I was left with Alibaba as the apparent best option. I can't imagine why that wouldn't be considered a key, core component of any e-commerce website. I still did a transaction with that vendor and ended up liking and trusting him (and vice-versa) and though he was initially resistant to payment other than by wire-transfer, he decided he would accept Paypal when I sent my payment that way and asked him to see if it was possible on his end. I took care of the fees, which were less than what it would have cost me for the wire-transfer, and a LOT less hassle to arrange. Anyway, how is it that MadeInChina (or any would-be challenger) doesn't see that assisting in transaction security and getting a percentage for doing so is VITAL to their profit?

Very sorry to hear the problem. If the freight forwarder's price is not too much higher than your suppliers, then choose it. Otherwise, the only thing you can do is just to ask your supplier to help you talk with the freight forwarder to get your products back. Maybe it's easier for Chinese people to talk to the freight forwarder.
