Throughout my life different people have asked me how I feel about marriage. I usually answer them with a few questions. “How many other relationships do you have where you have signed a legal document and a license that will force you to go to a court to terminate that relationship?” "For example, have you and your best friend signed a best friend license?" Of course the answer is no. Imagine you have a best friend license and before you can stop being friends with that person you have to file a lawsuit. You will need to hire attorneys and a judge has to approve you no longer being best friends. Then that judge can legally take some of your assets and give them to your former best friend against your will. That judge can also order you to pay a monthly amount ongoing into the future to that former best friend. This would be ridiculous and you would never sign a best friend's license. A marriage license should be viewed the same way. Voluntarily bringing governmental and judicial oversight into any of your relationships is insanity. Voluntarily allowing lawyers and judges to seize your property and give it to another party sometime in the future is irrational and should never be done under any circumstances.

My girlfriend still lives with her ex boyfriend from a year and a half ago, she still has his name saved in her phone as a cute nickname and she wrote a cute couples nickname they had for each other on all or his Christmas presents. She's always trying to dig up dirt on any new girl he starts to date and tell him he's not allowed to bring his new girl to their house. When I challenge her on any of this she says the cute nicknames are still there because she hates change and it makes her uncomfortable and sick to change them. She says she's not into him at all that way anymore, they're just "best friends" and she'd be like this with any of her best friends it they were dating someone new. The saving grace is I know he's not into her at all and he's been trying to leave the house for over a year now but she guilt trips him into staying. She crys at everything. Picks fights over nothing 24/7. She got mad because I asked her not to let guys stay over who she's slept with in the past. I catch her lying all the time but they're always just in the realm of possibility enough that she can deny it. She claims to have alot of mental health conditions but she worked in a job where there's no way she would have been able to with those conditions. Now she's telling me she has to go and get "rediagnosed". She was trying to get with me for 8months and was the nicest person ever and a total sex freak, but as soon as we got together her periods magically returned, she started having lots of injuries and she's been like a whole diffrent person making life a nightmare and there has been next to no sex for over a month... What should I do?
