I saw an amphicar once in Warren Pennsylvania riding the Allegheny River. My parents once had some kind of a short wheelbase Fiat 850 with a 4 speed. At the time I wasn't interested in cars other than did they get me where Dad was supposed to take me. The AMC Pacer was a brilliant design, but needed better door hinges on the right side door.

Ugly? I don't think so, I like most of them. The Dodge Dart looked just like all the other 1960 Chrysler products. Now my '61 Plymouth Valient was butt ugly, but one of the best cars i ever owned.

@@GeneralSantosCityJailhouse I agree, this company puts out videos on several car topics, and the pictures and clips only have a passing clue as to what the narrator is saying. They had to include the Edsel, of which its looks were only a minor part in its failure. The Dolphin was an attractive car for the first few years, but it wasn't a beetle, and they marketed it as if it was. A mistake, but ugly had little to do with it. All Citroens are ugly, but remarkable cars none-the-less. The amphicar was a success considering that every one built was sold and preserved as much as possible. And as a final, I love the Pacer. Nuf said?
