Hello Ava Pop Culture, I have read that Sony will cease production of Blu-Rays next month. Care to comment?

The Spirit was created by Will Eisner. It was one of Frank Miller’s main influences.

What we need is a company that can go back to these movies and update their CGI an put them back out. Another great list!

I am a seeker of forgotten films. One film I found was dead of winter 1987. Old Roddy McDowell and Mary Steenburgen star. 😊 Great video AVA

You’re pretty spot on about “movies you missed”, because the only one I’ve seen is Spy Game! Great video, dude. I have seen the McQueen Getaway, which is a Peckinpah flick, so you might like it. It’s pretty mean, as Peckinpah usually is, but definitely good. And I’ve been curious about The Spirit ever since I was a kid!

Thanks man!! I can't believe I pulled 9 out of 10 you haven't seen!! I definitely think you would like "Horns"... Spawn would also be HIGH recommend for you...it is NOT a superhero movie lol.. The Spirit is devisive, but I just recently rewatched and liked it better than years ago... I haven't seen that original Getaway but I am a fan of Peckinpah!

Now im gonna recommend you a few movies that i personally see nobody talking about that are insanely underrated......1) Running Scared from 2006 with the late great paul walker....2) derailed with clive owen from 2005. Blue ruin 2013 and 25th hour 2002 spike lee directed which is one of the rare movies to make me cry.

Spawn series rules! The Spawn movie is just fun. A couple of movies I recommend - Sneakers with Robert Redford, Sidney Poitier, Dan Aykroyd, Ben Kingsley, Mary McDonnell, River Phoenix, & David Strathairn - great caper film from 1992. And the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair with Pierce Brosnan, Rene Russo & Dennis Leary - great heist film from 1999.

Really good list. I've never seen Horns and I think I saw The Getaway like 30 years ago but remember almost nothing about it. The rest I have watched and all were good to excellent. Spy Game would be my favorite of them super underrated movie.

Awesome video I myself made 2 videos covering a total of 35 movies so far in the same vain as this list as well, I do plan on more videos of that series as well, just not too sure when my next volume will be made just yet. But yeah I love this video and some of these movies I do love, while some I haven't seen yet so will heck them out sometime soon.

Spawn is my all time favorite superhero (alongside Flash and Batman). The animated series is incredible! Keith David was perfect as Spawn. All these years later, I'm still devastated they canceled that show after only two seasons. The movie is also a ton of fun. Def a nostalgic one for me. Michael Jai White was as awesome as always. Also been hoping and praying for a new modern Spawn film for the last 20+ years. Keep seeing rumors over the years that MacFarlane is trying to make one, but nothing ever comes of it. I'll just keep praying. Hopefully we get another one before I'm dead.

I actually picked up Spy Game late last year and watched it for the first time - I thought it was pretty good. Haven’t watched Smokin Aces since it first came out on DVD but I liked it from what I remember. I’ve never even heard of Horns but it sounds pretty interesting and my wife has actually seen it and says it’s good so Ima add that to the target list. I’ve been slowly going through some older “list” videos so maybe I missed it or haven’t got to it yet but I would be interested in a top 10-15 list of your favorite actors along with a favorite movie for each.

The Spirit is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I went to the theater with 2 friends and my girlfriend( now wife) and we all walked out about half way through, as we agreed it was horrible. Me and my wife still joke about how bad that movie was once in a while.

One of my favorite comic characters and I was utterly disappointed. On no planet is it underrated.
@AVAPopCulture2 күн бұрын
Waaaaay too focused on the word underrated...there are only a certain amount of words you can put in a title, you can't explain the whole idea, which is why you're supposed to listen to the set up in the video and explanation...
@JBro792 күн бұрын
@@AVAPopCultureI did watch the video first. you said you "recommend it", "give it a chance", and in your first comment below you said "youre gonna love these awesome movies". That's what I'm responding to. lol. Anyways. I enjoy your videos far more than The Spirit. So keep doing what you're doing.

I saw Smokin' Aces at the cinema and I didn't really like it. Maybe worth another watch? Used to love the original Rollerball but I haven't seen it for years. I'll have to have a rewatch. Silverado got sold to me solely on two words..... Jeff Goldblum 🥰 I've never even heard of The Spirit. It looks pretty good. I saw The Getaway years ago as well. Looks better than I remember. You Don't Mess With the Zohan is really good fun. The "smell it" scene is so funny! I couldn't get on board with Spy Game. I barely even remember anything about it. RIPD is so much fun! It got slated in TV magazines over here but I enjoyed it. The movie of Spawn is great fun yet it seems to get a hard time here in the UK. Horns is a very bizarre film and also kinda sad.

The Spirit is one of those movies that is not “good” in most of the traditional senses of the word, and I hesitate to say that I like it, but I’m glad that it exists. I’m glad that a studio made the colossal mistake of green lighting this absolutely bonkers movie Hey Chase, have you seen Sam Raimi’s Crimewave? Because if you liked The Spirit, I think you might get a kick out of Crimewave. It is a wild movie; it’s kind of like if Tex Avery tried to make a Hitchcock thriller. It is hyperactive, cartoony, comedy, romance, while also trying to be dark and suspenseful; a tonal balancing act that it never really nails, and was probably doomed from the start. Like The Spirit, It’s a movie that I hesitate to say that I like, but I’m glad that it exists, and one I recommend just for the What the fuckitude of it all
