The Howling is my personal favourite Werewolf film. But Silver Bullet is right up there. I would recommend a film called 8 for Silver aka The Cursed that has an original spin on the gothic werewolf. But I also love Hammers Curse of the Werewolf and Legend of the werewolf which is very hard to get a decent copy of these days.

I've been importing dvd and blurays since forever. Back in the DVDs day, I was buying movies when visiting the US, which was a different region, so I got a multizone player. Being in Europe, I still buy releases from other regions, like US and Asia. Particularly in some EU countries, VAT tax is added on all these imported orders, which can make the prices very expensive, so need to find which websites can make things easier for you. If the retailer adds VAT before hand (like Amazon does), it gets cheaper than letting the courier do it

I absolutely agree, but not as much as what George Lucas did with Star Wars when he reedited and altered the film years after the films theatrical release. New effects, cuts, plot changes (Han Solo shot first) Personally I do not like “Unrated” and “Director’s Cut” at all. I find it dishonest, revisionist, and somewhat cowardly, and think they should’ve gotten it right the first time or stuck by their vision and cut it their way the first time. I’m a purist, a snob, nostalgic, and it’s about principle to me I realize I’m probably taking it too seriously, but I prefer authentic stuff. I also hate re-recorded music that is all too common with classic hits. Everyone knows what Betty Davis Eyes sounds like, and anything but the original sounds off. To your point about color choice, what they did to The Mummy in 4K is criminal. The entire warm, desert, Egypt feel has been stolen. It looks like bad tourist photos now!
