The New Holland Wheat Whiskey is 75 before tax. As a quick aside, this was a 25 gallon barrel with significant angels share (roughly a 50 bottle yield). We did get a few other barrels, but demand is high within our group. If we do a general release, I will share that with the channel and we're so glad you are loving it.

Blue Note is truly the Joint. Bought a store pick @121 proof but doesn't drink hot. Shared with some friends and it was a hit. Turned around and bought two more bottles before than ran out. Can't beat this barrel proof fir $40.

I am with you on anything that is cask strength. Wife picked up Rebel "cask strength" but when she go home she grabbed the wrong one... its Distillers Collection.. 113 proof instead of 120.... still excited about it. I am weary when it comes to MGP... I like distillers doing their own thing. Cheers fellers... great vid, had not heard of any of these, except for the Kirkland.
@callmebender2 жыл бұрын
Great line up!! Not really underrated any more but I've been stuck with Penelope Barrel proofs and Smoke Wagon but if you really go back to the MGP source, George Remus store picks are really amazing and a bit underrated compared to all the NDPs already selling the "same" juice. Another celebrity bottle that is better at cask strength is Blackened from Metallica, high rye blend finished on Brandi casks... good stuff. On a side note, if we are able to work it out I could send your way some Still Austin cast strength or other Texas cast strength bottles, I'm am seeing them all the time now... Cheers

Great theme for a show guys. I also love cask strength/barrel proof offerings, and it's nice to see some lesser known names. I had a friend and colleague come up to me at work last week and hand me a bottle of Blue Collar Bourbon Cask Strength as a gift. I had never seen or heard of it before, and discovered it's distilled in your neck of the woods in Indiana but blended and bottled by Working Man Distillers near to me in North Attleboro, MA. My friend's only request was that I feature it at my weekly Saturday night fire pit, which I did, and I also poured a glass of Maker's Mark Cask Strength for a comparison. The BCB is 118 proof and 59% ALC and the MM is 110.7 proof and 55.35 ALC, so it wasn't exactly apples to apples but close enough. I was pleasantly surprised that the BCB easily won out (in my opinion) in both the nose and palette and was really, really good on all levels. While I found the MM to be a bit harsh, the BCB had a predominant cherry note on the nose that translated to the palette. Just wanted to mention it after seeing this episode.

Another vote for more New Holland! They had a Dragons Milk Origin Double Oaked that I would love to try, can't seem to find anywhere near me! The 70/21/9 is Green River Distilling's mash bill. Apparently MGP did some contract distilling for them before they got their distillery up and running.
