My kid LOVES the mega cards! Beware though if buying online because there are LOTS of fakes out there. Zoom in and make sure the card has the right texturing to it..

Pop report doesn't mean as much as you think. Technically my japanese spinarak from. Neo only has a pop report of 8, but there are a shit load of them out there lol. People just don't care as much about Arceus/Dialga/Palkia card as the hot ones you compared it to.

Thoughts on other XY full arts? Very very low pop. Wailord, Sharpedo, Kyogre, Skarmory etc etc. there’s a small underground group chasing these cards and they are rarely up for sale. Great podcast!

I honestly don’t even care about the market and just get cards I like. Bought Magikarp $25 on release, Groudon for $30 on release, Eevee was a bit different because it was $50 on release but I still got it cuz I liked it

I do agree, those Eeveelutions are really nice pickups for the future - ESPECIALLY in PSA 10, those populations have insanely low 10 rate. Check out the V card promos, those are even more scarce in 10s.. The discrepancy, between English and Japanese, is due to their releases. The OG Eeveelution Vmax cards in Japanese were ungodly difficult to obtain. They were moving for like $500-800 on the secondary market immediately and really never came down. Very limited.

yea the Kanto Eeveelution Vmaxes were limited promos in Japan and other asian language prints like Thai/Indonesian and Traditional Chinese.

Yeah I also feel that Rainbows and Megas are being undervalued. I've picked up so many of those cards for dirt cheap all last year and still cant convince people that they are good.

I guess I’m different because if I see a 10 costs 5x more than the 9 I’ll buy the 9 everytime. More often than not the price appreciation will be greater with the 9 over time.

Gotta disagree on those rainbows. Maybe from sun and moon they were desirable pulls because they were l new, but sword and shield they just aren’t holding value. I’ve never been happy pulling a rainbow, I’d rather have the alt art, or for trainers just the full art version with actual color. That seems to be a pretty shared sentiment as almost every alt and full art is more expensive then the rainbow version by a huge margin. They are Kind of like the gold cards, just don’t hit and haven’t hit in years. The gold snorlax and rainbow pika and charizard from sword and shield have all gone down in price a ton, and with alt arts and illustration rares now a thing, the whole cgi generated Pokémon in colored background is just kinda meh. Just my opinion. Love your content, refreshing and rational as always.

I think it’s more that they will become nostalgic for the era. Similar to e-reader cards. We’ll have to see though. I do agree the CGI cards don’t look good and hopefully we don’t see that style return!

Rainbows will skyrocket, there’s no other rarity that look like rainbows , and nothin compares to having one in your hands they just look so good and shiny,

@@lastplayer5838I mean , that’s your opinion. My defense of them not being very valued is the market prices. Cards with color are always more valuable then the rainbow versions. There’s a couple vmax outliers, but overall I don’t see most of the rainbows going anywhere. IMO
