Masked Rider wasn't jsut a rip off of Power Rangers, it was an actual spin off. Edonoi, the home planet of Dex is also the planet where Alpha 5, the robot ally of the Power Rangers, was built. Masked Rider's first appearance was also in Power Rangers at the end of season 2 of Mighty Morphin

It was actually Season 3 instead of Season 2 but otherwise correct. Also I don’t approve of anyone referring to shows like Beetleborgs, VR Troopers, Masked Rider and Mystic Knights of Tir na Nog as rip-offs since calling something a ripoff basically implies that it was unauthorized or stolen but those were owned by Saban

Why Americans can't pronounce the letter A but constantly insist on using Japanese words like anime and manga is beyond me. I cringe every time I hear "eh-nime" or "maynga" (and we won't even start on how they mispronounce the actual English loan word waifu as "why -foo"). But I'll forgive the inability to pronounce the word kamen (I'll bet he eats "Rayman" noodles for lunch) if someone actually makes a show called Cayman Rider one day.
@Ironlantern7232 жыл бұрын
That was painful. What is it with shows like this where they refuse to make sure they are pronouncing words correctly? They go through the research and take the time to collect the footage for the video, yet they just halfass read it without caring whether or not they say it right.

Fun fact about Power Rangers/VR Troopers. VR Troopers started out as a single-hero show starring Jason David Frank after he left Power Rangers and the original plan was for the actor playing Ryan Steele in VR Troopers to debut as the new White Ranger but so many fans were clamouring for PR to bring bacc Tommy that they pulled an audible and recast JDF as a returning Tommy and made the other guy the leader of a team of 3 troopers.

I've seen at least about half of these shows throughout my young life one thing you got to love it about these shows is that they even know that ripoffs they acknowledge the power rangers is popular the fact that they were trying to imitate it prove that they were trying to do at least reach some level of excess even though they all were canceled and didn't meet up to the expectations you got to give them credit for at least trying to compete with it cuz the show didn't have any competition or at least any other show that was at least like at the time it was groundbreaking the fact that it's still around today and that it's getting its own movie universe there's produced by Hasbro is proof of that.

Mystic Knights did have a second season in the works, but with the massive boost in popularity after the ending of In Space Power Rangers Lost Galaxy would end up taking its place and the Post Zordon era of the show would begin. Kind of sad considering Mystic Knights had just added a fifth team member. Edit: as for Dragon Knight focusing on fight scenes, well that has to do with the source material. In Kamen Rider Ryuki the entire plot centered around a battle royale between the different Riders, one of the reasons why it has one of the largest groups of Riders in the entire series. Especially use up Gavan and Sharivan. There's also another Metal Hero in Korea as a movie called Sparkman.

I like the japanese version of kamen rider dragon knight coz it had more of a mature storyline and some of the riders have their own storylines that added flavor. The other riders have their own motives and what makes the japanese version unique is that it does not portray the black and white ..all good all evil story, there was gray area as the story progresses.

That's what I liked about Super Sentai Zyuranger, its story was way darker than it's counterpart Mighty Morphing Power Rangers.

@@andrewrentuaya9510 I recently bought Jetman on dvd and you are correct. It's between the Red Ranger, Pink Ranger and the Black Ranger. The team definitely doesn't get a long all the time.

@@thepayne7862 more organic than american sentai coz it show human emotion and motivation...but vr troopers is an exception coz...his journey in finding his father and knowing that his father had become one of grimlords minions..

To me the PowerRangers took a lot of the kitschy Japanese stuff from the 60s when I grew up and made a TV show with teens instead of a central hero and maybe a sidekick.
