Beowulf Schmidt is it okay if I talk about a parody or abridged anime? Cause Cell from DBZA is a really human character. Tullius was never the villain, if you join the Empire, after things settle, he tells you that another war will be coming with the Thalmor, but this time, the Empire will be ready for them, Ulfric was a deluded Nord that thought all he had done should give him the High Kings throne. Now as for Andrew Ryan, it was actually Fontaine that ultimately pushed him into that State of mind
@captainperiwinkle4 жыл бұрын
It depends on who you chose in the Civil War, but I chose the Imperials so I agree with you. Andrew Ryan was always the way he was... He allowed the production of The Little Sisters cause of his ideology, to not ban any scientific freedom and allow everything to be made profit of off. Fontaine did do some illegal moves, but Ryan banned all of his legal activities as well, so even if Ryan wasn't sick in the head, he was a hypocrite who would do anything to stay in power.

@Jimmyinvictus4 жыл бұрын
Tullius is *not* a villain. The Stormcloaks are (ironically) playing right into the Thalmor's plans. Skyrim cannot save itself; in-game dialogue implicitly states that Skyrim can't even feed itself without imports from Cyrodiil. Tullius shouldn't be on this list; Ulfric would be a much better choice. I disagree with Ulfric but he's a very well-written and acted character, and he has some justified grievances.

@@efeaslan9063 Expansions for DA2 and DAI were pretty good though. DA2 was kinda bad regardless of how you look at it compared to Origins (and I've played through DA2 4 times), DAI was a little better (writing wasn't nearly as good as Origins but better than DA2) but it got bogged down to hell with the MMO style fetch quests and useless stuff all over, and the end was a big letdown given it doesn't use almost any of your gathered armies or forces. If you were using a guide and knew what to go to in terms of actually good side quests and what you could just ignore entirely, it's still a pretty decent game. Jaws of Hakkon and the Descent expansions were both pretty good, Hakkon in particular, Trespasser was good of course but it felt too short for the story it's telling, didn't feel nearly as expansive as Awakening did.

Am I the only one who thinks The Seed family wasn’t that bad? Yes they did do tons of bad stuff, but Joseph was right. All he wanted to do was prepare everyone for the apocalypse. The ways he did it were incorrect and he could’ve done it a different way, all he was really doing was preparing his family for the apocalypse.
@TheJaBuLs4 жыл бұрын
They had great motives, but their execution was heavily flawed. I will say though, Joseph remains one of my all time favorite video game antagonists, he was so well written, spoke about issues that were/still are going on, and encapsulated it all in a far-right militant extremist. His siblings were great as well, loved their stories, but Joseph...he was next level compared to most "villains." That ending...holy fuck was that a great ending to a game.

Fighting a villain isn't hard, relatively speaking. They're evil, you're against them, it's simple. The best villains aren't the ones you fight, but the ones that make you "fight yourself", villains that do bad things for a positive ideal that may even align with your own. Love these examples, especially Logan

Vergil from DMC5, he's power hungry with a thirst for revenge against mankind because he was "abandoned" as a child (except he wasn't, his mother actually tried looking for him during the attack but she died before she could find him, separating the twins). Vergil's thirst for power comes because he wasn't able to protect himself as a child, and feels that if he can defeat dante, he would be worthy of his late parent's love. All because as children, dante was on the right place at the right time, and vergil wasn't. Vergil even asks himself what would happen had they been in the other side (vergil being saved and dante being forgotten). Nero is exactly what Vergil would've been had he had someone to love, because Vergil wants power to protect himself and overcome his insecurities, and Nero has the same ambition, but it's to protect the family he loves.

Let's not forget what really broke Handsome Jack: betrayal. Moxxi and Lilith both betrayed him, destroyed the artifact and horrifically burned his face. The neglect as a child is certainly the start, but what pushed him over the edge was the actions of people he thought he could trust.

For me, Dhaos from Tales of Phantasia. He was from another planet that lost it's mana when their world tree died. He came here to get a seed for a new world tree to save his planet, and beating him dooms his planet. Dhaos realized our tree's power was fading like on his planet because of misuse and he decided to wipe out the people to save it (which is why you want to beat him). You only learn this background during the ending too, so it isn't like you get to ponder the choice of dooming his planet and saving your own.
