Thank you for this. I just got your Art for Joys sake brushes (yesterday). I now see why you love the dagger brush so much. The leaves almost painted themselves! I can see that the eucalyptus leaves are going to take the most practice. I really love the dab stroke and the v strokes. They are almost effortless. Thanks again.

I hesitated to watch this video when it popped up in my KZbin feed a few weeks back because, well I have watched a ton of how to paint leaves on this so far 2 year journey into learning watercolor. OMGoodness, I'm going to be watching it again! It's like leaves painted in the easiest way I've ever seen!!! My brain is like why didn't I think of doing it that way!! My eyes were like wow light bulb moment when I saw you using the round brush in the end painting!! As a round brush has been my go to brush. I'm just blow away at how easy it could be! Hi Kristy. Just purchased your brush collection. Love them! Used them to paint the 19 watercolor leaves. Help. Practice, patience- I know, but it would be helpful if you really slowed down video and described which way the dagger brush is facing. Facing out left, out right - straight edge, curved edge. Position of where to hold brush would be helpful. Ty

@KristyRice2 жыл бұрын
Good question! When I ship inventory to Amazon there is a time period when they then transfer stock to many different warehouses nationwide. During that time my item is back “in stock” but not prime delivery eligible. Amazon estimates very generously how long it will be for you to receive the item. Their estimates are always very long in my experiences. You will likely have your set much quicker than their estimate :)

I have three, THREE, 1/4" dagger brushes and not one of them will make the strokes that you do. Do you think it might be user error? 🤣 I think I'll stick with a round brush.
@KristyRice10 ай бұрын
So likely not user error. My dagger is quite specific and unique compared to others out there at the time of this comment:) 1. Shorter length overall and synthetic, super snappy bristles. So you get that controlled shape easier than say a longer, natural bristled version. 2. Also my handle is a bit shorter than most, also gives greater control, in my opinion. Does any of this sound like the dagger’s you have? Longer bristles, softer bristles that don’t snap back into shape and/or longer handles? PS: Sometimes folks go too fast between the drag and lift portion of “press, drag and lift”. Slow down that transition and see if you get better results!
