"Wedge climbing" is often referred to as a "pharaoh" or "chimney climb" in other disciplines. Chimney is usually more narrow and has a little different technique, but what you demonstrated here is classic pharaoh IMO. Interesting video. I've always appreciated your more careful/cautious approach. I know stylistically it is not as smooth or flashy, but I feel it's very responsible and stress a good example

Thanks for the info! I was struggling to find proper names for some of these techniques, so I just kind of had to come up with my own terms.

Thx ronnie, in my combat fitness group we have a challenge that involves climbing over thick tree branches with a backpack on, i bet this will help me next time.

Honestly you getting into a primal parkour sounds very cool. Like Tarzan traversing through the forest, I would like to not only touch some grass but feel more grounded to nature full time. But I don't know if you made a video about this though. Could you make a video on how to start training parkour or acrobatics safely as an adult? The video can also benefit other trail runners or someone who wishes to start parkour training no matter the mobility background. But hey your videos are so cool to watch, I haven't even found a proper tutor or coach to start parkour.

Thanks! I'm glad you like my videos! I have a lot of beginner parkour tutorials that i think are relevant for any age. you can check out here. kzbin.info/aero/PLo6MrktVVANoeveIYzlcD_u1ZBX01BrJd&si=UHFeqCXmDBa1HAjb I'll probably be doing more nature related parkour tutorials in the future as well, if there is continued interest.

maybe ways to climb a tree with rope assist? great video, if only other life knowledge were presented in the same clean and comprehensive way
@ronniestreetstunts4 ай бұрын
Yeah I've done some rope climbing methods for climbing trees before, but once rope are involved there is a whole world around it with arborist climbing that I don't have expertise in.
@nadMoZzzg4 ай бұрын
@@ronniestreetstunts yes , but i mean simple tricks without fancy knots and equipment like when palm climbers put on rope between there foots, or when you throw rope to get to a high branch, or when you do "ladder" from small loops of rope that can fit in pocket, you can wrap that loop around tree without knots and it became foothold
@ronniestreetstunts3 ай бұрын
Oh yeah, that would be interesting. Thanks for the ideas.

would this work if i had shoes on?
@ronniestreetstunts3 ай бұрын
Yeah you can climb with shoes, the grip will just be different on different surfaces so be sure to really test out the grip of your shoes on the tree before you climb it so you know what to expect. I find barefeet grip to most trees better than shoes on average.
