I hope it's okay to say this: You look really nice. The color of your blouse accents the highlights in your hair, and the coloring of your make-up really suits you. You look lovely : D

I agree. I’m wondering if the skin glow is skin care or highlighting makeup or just natural or some combo or plus wearing the right colors etc. Looks great tho. 😬

Chronic fatigue tip: I keep a small bin or bag in whatever area I'm trying to declutter for things that need to get donated or thrown away and then I'll just toss things in as I'm using the space. Once it's full I can deal with it and since it's small it's never too difficult for me to take with me on my way out the door.

My mom did a little organic decluttering. She had difficulty going up and down stairs, so whenever she did laundry, she started staying in the basement the whole time. While she was down there, she worked on going through the piles and bins of excess. She also sorted photos into separate bins. She couldn't carry things out herself, but she made a little progress while she could.

Organic decluttering made me think of this funny meme I saw: “I needed to do the laundry, but then I realized I was out of detergent, so I went to write a shopping list and realized how unorganized the junk drawer was, and started checking pens for ink. When I went to toss all the junk, I saw that the trash was full but before I took it out I wanted to get rid of old food in the fridge. That's when I realized a juice jug had leaked so I needed to clean it up but when I went to grab a rag, I saw that the pantry closet was a nightmare so I started organizing it. And that's how I ended up on the floor looking at my old photo albums from 1990's and not doing laundry.” Lol

I have decided to break my large decluttering process into small projects. For instance, my closet will be divided into 3 small projects - top shelf, hanging clothes, shoes. I feel I can easily work the junk drawer in the kitchen while cleaning the kitchen at night. Since I am retired, I can work all of these little projects into my daily cleaning schedule.

I like to do it organically even tho I’m not really “limited.” Lol. If I’m cooking, I have decluttering on my mind. I’m always mulling over my processes and how well things flow as I cook...thinking like do I like this tool? Do I use it? Does it help or hinder ease of cooking etc. When I take a bath, same. When I’m tending to the pets. Same. And so on. Lol. Such as every time I have a chore that I’m not so fond of, (or just a lot of my repetitive daily grind that gets old), I ponder how it can be easier, quicker or less sucky (which often involves decluttering and helps me to consider what all inventory I will never have to deal with again lol). I will clean up a storm if I know that a big chunk of the irksome stuff I’m dealing with won’t even be there to annoy or aggravate me next time. Lol. I tell the stuff “that’s the last time I’ll ever have to deal with you.” Or if I like it and it’s been good to me but it’s time to move on I tell it “you’ve been great but I’m ready for a change.”

#8 Distractions- I know being a multitasker is glorified but I need to consentrate even to do the laundry, for example. Everyone's mind is differant. Getting rid of known distractions can set you up for success. Great tips!

Thank you for the awesome video. I really appreciate your channel as I’ve just discovered it! I really value that you added chapter descriptions as it makes it easy to come back to the video and after I’ve watched it remind myself of the things you mentioned. Pink is a lovely colour on you btw :) Am I the only one who only heard nine tips for decluttering faster? Not complaining I’m just wondering if I missed a tip somehow?

You're exactly right! The to-do list never ends in a day... in fact, it can just keep growing which can seem defeating. But you cannot pour from an empty cup, clock out when you need, and the list will still be there waiting for you in the morning! Something I like to do with my tasks every now and then is audit them. Are there some that need to be edited, or even better, removed? What about frequency... am I doing it too often? Can I batch certain like tasks together to move through things more quickly (context switching can really slow you down and drain you.)

Thanks for these awesome tips! I'm going to apply them to other things I'm procrastinating / having trouble getting much headway in, like work at my job, as well as decluttering. I'm already really fired up to get going!

There is a lot of effort in sell of the items you no longer need. Avoiding the fees and other costs (e.g. postage) that are not paid by the buyer in full works for more expensive items but is harder for heavier less costly items. Donation does not always work the way you think. I took several boxes to a charity shop. They accepted the offer but when asked to carry them to the back room I found that content of the previous box was already placed on the skip ready to go to landfill. When I asked why they sad they can't take electrical items. The mechanical monitor stands have no electrical component. But they could have rejected them and given them back to me. With clothes, unless new and never been worn they put them with rags. I have offered many items on Freecycle. But for some items found it quicker to sell (at a low cost) than the time spent to fail to give away on Freecycle. Either way, in local sites (e.g. Facebook market place) many people fail to turn up or think they can a week or two later. For a fairly fast removal I have seen broken items of no value I have left out for the refuge collection or on a skip disappear in no time. The local recycling centre have a small room with "picked" items that they sell to raise additional funds. Some very interesting pieces as well.

Here in New Orleans there's a place that accepts gently used kitchen stuff for store credit. Just brought my Cuisinart skillets and glass casseroles that i don't use and got a great return. Now to pick replacement stuff, later. Maybe your community has something like that. It's called Seasoned Cookware.
