Everything you say is true from what I observed. The problem lies in covert narcissism and how terrifyingly normal they seem at first. The overt/grandiose narc is often very easy tobspot and stay away from. The covert almost acts normal even though they are a black hole.

This strategy works. The narcissist does not hear anything you say and DISCOUNTS whatever you say. Compliance in ALL rhings keeps the narcissist from having to correct you.

Do situational codependents, while consciously exhilarated at the newfound liberty, unconsciously develop self-sabotaging or self-punitive behaviours (hurting themselves, cutting, etc.)? And after going through the cycle of selecting the wrong partner and discarding him/her, do they go back to a relatively healthy, non-dependent self?
