The richest people I met in my life wore the most simple clothes and I must say when I rock sweatpants and no make up in the expencive restaurant the people who work there always think I'm rich lol. Sasha T. Not sure what kind of area you visit where people don't give a dam about looking pulled together, but where my family is from in upscale L.A. people look very stylish. Even when they are dressed casual, it still looks stylish...not bummy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with looking like you put in some effort.
@sandravermeulen97296 жыл бұрын
@@giggles1219 The difference is in the way the clothes are cut. Very expensive brands actually have a lot of plain basic clothes in their collection as well but the fabric and the way it's cut and the quality of the thread used to sew it together will differ greatly from the basics you find at your local store. The way the shape is cut out makes the biggest difference in how classy an item looks.

You can adapt these tips to suit you. Anyone can own a decent jacket and sunglasses. When they talk about make-up, interpret that as, "keep your skin and facial hair clean." Shoes: own or borrow a pair of dress shoes, and keep your casual shoes clean. Sewing your own: this tip also applies to anyone who can sew, not just women. Bargain hunting: this also applies to anyone at all. So there you have it! Some manly style tips for you.

Michael Kors is one of the most basic expensive brands so basic and cheap like middle class affordable brands like MK is cheap and crappy but if you buy premium designers like LV GUCCI PRADA etc is worth Year’s upon years and will last forever trust me it’s worth spending the extra 1k because you will have it forever and it will never break or get messed up. Take it from me, I’ve owned lower middle priced luxury items and they are so cheaply made in comparison - I own a ridiculous amount of nice stuff and the quality speaks for itself because of how long it holds up - trust me haters only say that bc they can’t afford it so just save up

My tips and tricks to looking rich is one: if you don't have enough or any money to buy a designer handbag make a diy one. One trick to make it look like it cost a fortune is to simply add a puffball keychain which you can also do to a simple bag you bought from target. Two: add gemstones or beads to a simple pair of sunglasses to make it look like a designer peice when, really, it only cost you nothing. Three: before you go to pay for something in a store, stuff your wallet with a lot of folded paper along with your money so when you take out your wallet to pay for something it lookes like your wallet is FULL of money. Four: when someone asks you how much a item you bought costs, make up a really expensive price and add an "it only costed" like say something costed you 600 dollars you say " oh, it only costed 1,892 dollars. isn't that a nice, cheap sales price?" then smile. lastly,Five: if your walking around a really expensive store looking at stuff but you secretly know you can't afford it, chatter on wear a store assistant can hear on how one item in your closet costs more than an entire outfit here. What also helps is to speak in a British or English accent if you can. Hope these tips and tricks help you, bye! 😊

Adriana Bloomberg yeah and with all the videos out on this topic what they don't realize is that really really rich people like the super wealthy in the top one percent but they don't follow any of these rules for for for for people in the one percent to the most part don't even buy mass produce clothing for everything is usually custom-made so it's basically like buying fabric and having it so although they certainly have professionals doing it It's also such a waste as well because if they're spending their limited resources was on the staff and at the end of the day they don't really have anything that's actually making them happier for like in my case was I don't spend that much on closing but I do spend a lot of money on tech products and traveling for us because that's very important to me and it really enriches my life and because of that with people assume that I am the richest one Believe me, sitting in a luxury class seat flying to Switzerland for wearing a very simple may dress says a lot more about how "rich" you are then wearing of her Versace Jean standing out on the street like an idiot with nowhere to go except home LOL I'm being a little over-the-top but seriously

I think the most important thing that was missed in this video, the thing that actually makes the most difference and can make a $40 dress look like it cost $4000, is a tailor. Having clothes that fit you perfectly makes them look more expensive. A woman with pants that sit at a perfect place with her shoes looks infinitely more expensive than one with frayed edges on the bottom hem because the pants are too long. Having a tailor do alterations to your clothing, whether taking the waist out, shortening the length, etc, can make you look like your clothes are expensive. Nothing screams expensive than clothes that are tailored for you. Some tailors can cost you $2 an alteration. For $2 you can make your clothing not only look more expensive, but fit better and feel better., they make your clothing last longer. They make you look better, and therefor feel better about yourself. I can't believe this wasnt listed in the video. Its the easiest, most cost effective, and best way of looking expensive. And if you're lucky enough to have a mother or father who can do these alterations, count yourself blessed. Ask them to help you, and while you're at it, ask them to teach you, its a lifelong skill that will save clothes, fix that shirt that you loved that they didnt have in your size so you thought you'd buy a size bigger or smaller and make it work....getting your clothes altered can make that shirt fit you and look great.

Fabric costs more than buying certain finished items. When fabric costs 10.99 a yard (on sale!) but the item is about that much, and includes not only the sewing but elastic, lining, maybe trim....
@sandravermeulen97296 жыл бұрын
You have to look well for places where fabric is cheaper. Where I live the twice a year fabric fair is the place to go. They will sell the last pieces of the roll for €2,50 or €5,00. We binge-buy at that fair and the rest of the year we don't need to buy it at the expensive stores. However some stores have this 'last piece of the roll' deal as well which will usually be in a basket by the shop's door.

Years ago I tried making my own clothes but always hated the result not because it was badly sewn but because it didn't suit me.It's much better to be able to try on a finished garment, then you can see straight away if it suits you or not.
@sandravermeulen97296 жыл бұрын
If it doesn't suit you and you made it you can alter it to fit you better. Alter the pattern if the one from the book doesn't fit you well. It also depends on the fabric you chose. Make sure the colour suits you. For example I shouldn't go for too many pastels because it makes me look pale. Even when I made it for myself it still won't look good if the fabric isn't one that suits me.

Secondhand stores are great. I have on several occations picked up jeans or jackets that cost between 150 and 250 dollars, or even more, and I pay less than 20. You can also find silk and/or designer clothes for a fraction of the price. I live in a rather posh area, and the secondhand stores here are goldmines. Especially a few weeks after Christmas.

I you want to save money and look expensive, it's a good idea to learn how to sew. At least then you can make some original pieces no one else is wearing.

May I offer a add on for makeup and clothing? Existing wardrobe can be affordably tailored to fit better. If you do not know how, develop a good relationship with a tailor/seamstress. Another piece of advice is about foundation makeup. To find the proper shades, go somewhere that you can try on and sample before purchasing. This way you can look at it in different light and be confident of not only the shade of color match, but the beauty in texture and wear. Cheers!

I absolutely LOVE wearing scarves!! I have an entire dresser drawer full of nothing but off kinds of scarves! I have some with fringes, infinity scarves, sheer scarves, pattern, one collar, floral, all kinds you can think of! I wear one every time I dress up. Mom says I am a bit crazy for having that many scarves... But she doesn't ever wear one even in winter! So how would she know what it does?

I love to sew, but unfortunately in 2018 it is actually more economical to just buy clothes from the store than to buy the material and put it together. Very time consuming for one item. Non-bulk fabric retailers are not cheap. I like to get quality pieces from second hand and vintage shops and tailor them to fit me myself or, if i'm lazy, a professional. I would definitely add to this list: wear clothes that fit well. You may likely need a tailor, especially if tall, short or have lost weight.
@Miliconsz7 жыл бұрын
This is very American. If you go to a vintage store you can find pretty cool pieces like for a dollar. Everything is about how you combine this pieces. Think French start with the basics.

1. Fit and silhouette 2. Rent higher-end pieces 3. Thrift stores 4. Nails, makeup and hair 5. Making your own clothes (made by you or by someone else) takes a lot of time and skill. And fabric is expensive. Plus, the finished product usually looks homemade and cheap. 6. Go to a tailor. 7. Get rid of noticeable nose hairs (as seen on the model). 8. Basic hygiene

It's not the clothes, it's how you wear it, and how clean you are and look. And very important, your personality.Pero, todo eso es vanidad, (ecepto estar y ser limpio) así que solo nos debe importar quienes somos y no como vestimos.😉
@symphytumtribe15827 жыл бұрын
Go to thrift store and find the designer level clothes on separate racks, they cost next to nothing . You have to go a lot and find things so when you want to wear them your good to go. Or upstyle/restyle quality stuff into current styles.

Okay, own a leather jacket if you want to, but I don't agree that it has to be specifically a leather jacket. It could just as easily be a blazer or cardigan that you wear with everything. However, I do agree that whatever your go-to item is, if it's too fad-specific, it will look dated very soon, so either go completely wild and unique, or classic and timeless. Similarly, why pointy shoes? That's got nothing to do with looking rich. Your shoes just need to be clean and well looked after. Yes, if they're super cheap, it does help if they're a neutral shade and style, because they are right about that - it does disguise the lower quality. Not everyone wears make-up all the time either. I think it's more valuable to advise, "keep your skin clean and moisturised." They didn't mention thrifting! This is so much better than the destructive fast fashion industry, and you're almost guaranteed to find fast fashion items when thrifting anyway. If you can sew, but find making your own clothes from scratch too time-consuming, altering thrifted clothes can give you a sleek silhouette in a fraction of the time. I don't even own a pair of sunglasses, and since I obviously need to get one before my eyes explode anyway, I'd definitely give this tip a try. Overall, this isn't the worst style tips video I've seen - I've gotten some good ideas from it.

A pair of Calvin Klein jeans marked down to 10 dollars from 60 dollars and a beaded clutch marked down to 5 dollars from 50 dollars.

And that's just a tiny example out of my many treasures of designer clothing in my wardrobe (from Alexander McQueen, through Marc Jacobs, MM6, Isabel Marant, Moschino). And trust me - I have never paid more than 150 dollars for any of those pieces!

One surefire way to find good fabrics and cuts at an affordable price is to frequent second-hand shops, such as Goodwill, Salvation Army and most important Housing Works, in NYC - especially those in good neighborhoods. If you spend the time to study what's on their racks, you will come to notice a good cut and good fabric right away. Clothes made in previous decades, if they are still in good shape, were made better and much fewer were of cheap fabric. A wool coat was 100% wool, not 60% as often is now. Camelhair coats looked expensive (not like the overpriced copies we have now), blazers were cut better and the linings held up. Same with pants for work. And the fabrics did not wrinkle soon as you put them on! Also, be conscious of the stitching on clothing. Poor stitching is a giveaway of a cheaply made piece, as are cheap looking buttons. If you can find Jaeger blouses and early Evan-Picone (1960s) shirts and pants, you will see the difference in stitching, cut and even color.

Another tip is to not be afraid to play with colors, choose weird but stylish outfits that aren't seen all the time like the models in a louis vuitton fashion show, like throw on some ripped blue jeans and roll up the bottom, throw on some low top yellow vans and put on a trendy shirt and a jean jacket from forever 21 and another tip is to accessorize, Buy some clout goggles or some circle framed glasses that'll catch attention from everyone to wherever you're going, whether the mall or a party, I actually use these tips and everywhere i go i catch attention to my outfits because i have a lot of colors on and stuff

I love to wear scarves. They give me that sense of strength and nobility like a queen or a great leader even if I am a very small almost unknown person. Whenever I wear a scarf the confidence I have boosts my feeling and actions causing those around me to gain some smiles, hellos, and new friends. When I saw this I nodded alot when scarves came up!
