The best advice for hair is to do what works for your hair! Try different things, and do what works for you. I wash mine every day and use insane amounts of conditioner and my hair is healthy and feels great! About 3 years ago someone said “don’t wash your hair everyday” and so I didn’t and for 3 years I hated my hair except on wash day. Now I love my hair everyday!

Finally someone says to blow dry your hair! This may not be the case for everyone, but when I blow dry my hair, I prefer all the dead hair ending up on my bathroom floor rather than on the back of my sweater! (Part of my routine is using my handvac to then vacuum up the hair off my floor, lol. But I do believe it removes whatever you’d shed throughout the day in one fell swoop.) Anyhow, always enjoy getting ready in the morning watching your videos; your energy is infectious!

I used to swirl the hairs up with tissue in circular motions! But then a couple years ago I got a hand vac, and it's not vary strong for other things, but I do use it for the hairs in the washroom, and it works for that!

Hi Shea. I've been a fan for quite a while but don't think I have commented yet. Guess what? I curled my hair exactly as you said, including not much conditioner and blow drying and the cold blast..and pinning each curl up...and it worked! My hair looks amazing! Thanks. And it didn't take me long. 🤗 Thanks for your videos, I have learned so much from you. I love how natural, funny, friendly and relateable you are. Some of your early videos have been popping up in the last few days (including your first) and you look even more beautiful today than you did then.

This video motivated me to work harder on my hair. My method has been to wash it, apply a restorative cream for "unruly hair" and then let it air dry. It invariably comes out feeling dry. Today I tried blow drying it, then finishing on a cool setting. And then I went all the way and used my curling iron on it. It's smooth, it's wavy, it feels so good!

My hair gets frizzy if I blow dry while wet. I personally let my hair dry about 80 percent and then blow dry and it looks it’s best. I have naturally curly and dry hair . Thanks for the tips, Love your videos

I’ve had so many problems with frizz this year because of the constant humidity, so I’ll give your method a try. My hair is a lot shorter than yours, and naturally curly/wavy, but I’ll try it your way and see what happens. Wish me luck!

Read the comment above yours. Blowdrying your hair in humid conditions will make it worse. The reason is that blow drying takes out the water from the hair and seals the cuticle. But when it’s humid, the hair absorbs back the water like a sponge and it gets frizzier.

I’ve tried months and months of not using heat to “repair” my hair and it didn’t change anything except give me bad hair days every day lol. Now I style with heat once a week and use heat protection and my hair looks better than ever! Heat isn’t bad if done right and yes not too high of temperature on your hot tools! I have mostly straight-ish, kind of wavy, hair. Last week I was out of town and shampooed/conditioned as normal, but used more leave in conditioners than normal (a hair oil, a spray, and then....Living Proof 5-in-1 styling treatment, of which was only in my travel items because it was a free sample) and then blowdried and curled my hair. I normally air dry. My hair looked the best it ever has in its life that day, curls held up til day following. I'm getting a bigger 5 in 1 - that was the secret for me. My hair is a pile of horse poo when I don't use enough conditioner - it is very tangly. But the 5 in 1 plus hairdrying was perfect.

It takes courage to expose your true self and in so doing becoming real and vulnerable. My heart aches for you and I am and will be praying for these dental issues to be resolved in a restorative and positive manner. I don't know your personal faith, but I do know that when we trust the one true God, He never wastes anything that comes into our lives and He will always make it work out for His good purpose when we give it to Him. May God bless you in every way as you deal with this very real and personal issue, dear Shea.

So blow drying hair isn’t as bad as heat tools, but what is your opinion on using a big round brush regularly for blow outs? I am trying to avoid using so much heat on my hair, and heartless curls, regardless of the method look stupid on me. I have heard that big blow outs stretches the hair and will eventually break it. Is that true??

Okay, a FEW things; Air-drying actually works better for some people. I know it works best for me even though it's so tiring to wait 3-5 hours for my hair to fully dry, but that is actually what gives me the least frizz and most shine. It has to do a l o t with the environment you live in. Specifically, blowing out your hair removes all the water from it and yes it does seal the cuticle so your hair is shinier, BUT if the environment you live in is more humid than the circumstances of the blowed-out hair, then all that water in the atmosphere starts lifting up your cuticle and gets absorbed back in the hair (much like a sponge), thus giving you frizzy hair. Different seasons also play a huge role in this. Second, whatever spray you're using, try spraying on your palms and then applying it onto the hair strands, I swear this tiny detail makes SUCH a difference, it's stupid how good of a trick it is. I love your videos, girl! But just a small note; I think you need to consider more that different hair types work differently to avoid getting into situations like this in the future where you have to correct yourself (I mean absolute situations where you are banning all hair sprays 😂). This is in no way a hate comment, just constructive criticism. Much love. 🤍

@@marah3298 Aw, that's so sweet 🥺 and yeah like, in the past blowing out my hair gave me the best results but not anymore, like it depends on sooo many factors, you just can't generalize these things for everyone. But it's okay, it's an innocent mistake anyone could make.

Shea … I know this is not a question for this specific video. But do you recommend a bra? Im 6 months post Augmentaion. & I just like comfort bras. I could put money on it that you recommend one. However I can’t find it in your videos? Thanks so much. I admire your fashion style & recommendations & I feel so much prettier & confident since I’ve been watching your videos .. so thank you

You're sooo right about not air drying your hair! I have fine, curly, frizzy hair. When I don't blow it dry, it is frizzier and looks like trash til I wah it and it doesn't hold any style except what it wants to do!

This was so helpful, Shea! I’ve wondered many times what you do to make your hair so silky, bouncy and healthy looking. Such valuable viewpoints re conditioner, blow drying, etc. I’ll look for your shampoo on another video, but I just purchased the magic myst and I can’t wait to try it. Thank you, as always!!!

What someone told me is that it's not healthy for your hair to blow dry but it makes it smooth and good but In the long run its bad is it true ? Because I hate my hair rn

Hi Shea, thank you for another great video! I need your help… You did a video that I can’t find and you mentioned a serum product for hair loss. Can you please tell me either the name of the product or what video it was? I’m starting to lose some hair in the front and would like to get something to stop it.. Thank you again!!! 💕💕🙏🏽🙏🏽

I think it's the Vegamour product. Her 20% off discount code is SHEA. I found the link in the description below the "12 *BRUTALLY HONEST* ways to look MORE ATTRACTIVE!" video. When I clicked the link in the description below the video, the product (GRO Hair Serum) was listed at the top of the first page I came to, under Best Sellers. It may also be in the description below other videos. Just remember to use the coupon code SHEA.

Something that is so basic is using the air concentrator attachment that snaps on at the end of your blow dryer. If you want smoothness, shine and less frizz as Shea said she does, why does she not use the attachment in her demo?

Well, you got me again, Shea Whitney!! Got to have the Magic Myst. I share my time between Northern California and Cabo San Lucas, MX. The hair situation is real!! I never dry my hair in Cabo because I have a lot of natural curl - but you’re right, it looks crappy! Going to use the myst and dry and curl my hair down in Cabo too and see how it works for me. Thanks for always sharing the good stuff!!

I love your videos and I appreciate the advice and all your tips My! 😊My only issue is saying that you NEED to blow dry your hair or it will be frizzy and look bad. With my hair personally, it is MUCH more frizzy and non-perfect when I DO blow-dry it. I have booty length, straight, thin and fine hair. It looks so much better when I let it air dry. (Plus im not adding all that heat damage which, yes, is a real thing because it has happened to me my whole life, sometimes even WITH heat protectant and using really good, high quality products.) Once I stopped blow drying, my hair got WAY less frizzy, so much softer and I went from damaged, dry hair with split ends, to beautiful, SUPER healthy, Shiney all-one-length hair. The only way it looks better blown dry is if I take 2+ hours to do a legit blow out. As A 30 year old women who has two serious illnesses, unfortunately that is not possible for me to do, nor would I want to do that every day or every few days even if i could. So again, I truly appreciate the advice and tips and tricks, but unfortunately everyone's hair is DIFFERENT! AND THATS OK! LOL if you need to blow dry to look better, then you get it girl! But please, don't say that we ALL need to do this because we don't all have your hair type. Even if we did have your hair, it doesn't mean that everyone has to do it the same either. Different is not only OKAY, it's GOOD and it's REAL!☺💛 It is OKAY to air dry if it works for you! I just wish more people in the spotlight would recognize that this world is not a 'one size fits all'. And this is coming from a woman who is perfectly happy and content in her body and hair. So I'm not bitter or hating, I'm just being honest! I just want women to understand that IT IS OKAY TO BE DIFFERENT!!!! there is nothing wrong with you and you are not 'WRONG' if you don't blow dry your hair, or your lips are smaller sized, or your 20 lbs heavier than your BFF. Because in all honesty, DIFFERENT IS REAL, DIFFERENT IS YOU, DIFFERENT IS GOOD!! 💛

I’ve been trying to concentrate my shampoo more at the roots using my head massager tool, then concentrating conditioner only on my ends. I feel like I’m stripping less natural oils from my ends that way, but the shampoo runs throughout my hair while rinsing to gently clean it. Works for me.
