Well, I imagine Spider-Man was in a Tony Hawk game because the first Spider-Man game on the PS1 was built using the Tony Hawk engine. Spider-Man's enterance was also the greatest I've ever seen in one of the Smackdown games. WWF Attitude was glorious. Turn off KO and you could bloody your opponent so badly, they almost looked like they'd been skinned.

WCW Nitro (PC & Playstation) also had a bunch of unlockable characters with movesets stolen from the actual wrestlers. Though many of the unlockables were actual wrestlers there was also a snowman, Santa Claus, a dinosaur, a Frankenstein monster, a clown and a few others in the game. WCW's THQ games in general featured despite the massive roster many unlockables that were not actual wrestlers.

With regard to Fred Durst: Apparently he had it written in his contract that he had to be an unlockable character in any and every video game that featured music by Limp Bizkit. This is why he also appeared in WWF Raw for the Xbox and the Fight Club tie-in game.

There's also Michael Cole in Here Comes the Pain, but I don't think he can be unlocked. You can play as him tho. He showed up randomly on WrestleMania for me, challenging for the IC title. Played him in the match to win the title. Not sure who's moveset he had, was some generic cruiserweight crap. That game was also messed up in that if you held the WHC title and had Ric Flair on the opposite brand with WWE title, he'd come challenge for it across the brands as per a storyline event. I had Chris Jericho as undisputed champ in that game, but the game just kept announcing him as the WWE Champion in spite of holding and defending both each PPV.

I feel like making the Ho unlockable isn't that strange at all. The character model is already in the game as Godfather's escort, so it makes sense to just make her playable because, well, why not? The same logic applies to the Announce Team. If the game developers had to make models of them for the story mode anyway, you might as well make them playable, especially considering that announcers being forced to wrestler isn't an unheard of occurrence. Making the Ho expensive in No Mercy also makes sense because it pads out the game time by giving dedicated players something to save up for while being insignificant enough that casual players won't feel like they missed anything by not unlocking her.

I used to play as the ant in wcw Thunder. He was shorter than everyone else so all the moves looked "buggy" with him cause his model represented legs. Wcw Nitro also had a section of random characters. Santa Claus, A skeleton, an anime schoolgirl, and even a ghost. For some reason in the same section of these obscure characters, they put in classic hogan, classic sting and classic macho man.

I cannot remember the PS1 game but Jimmy Hart and a security guard were the last unlockables, then about 10 years later in one of the SVR games Jimmy Hart is unlock able against with Rhyno's move set. Rhyno was in TNA at the time, as in the company that has a PS3 game with Don West as the last unlockable.
