My first thought when I saw the title was X-Pac. I believe he referred to it as a deluge of blood the minute he got his trunks off. British Bulldog's injury, as well as similar ring gimmick injuries, is why I think the ring shouldn't be messed with, even if it's supposed to be a setup for something. Edge's retelling of McMahon's quad tears is hilarious.

Honorable mention: up to his throat with offbeat shenanigans There was a story Jimmy Korderas told on a podcast about how Lance Storm got injured in the match against Christian. As it turns out, throughout the course of the match Christian inadvertently broke the hyoid bone in Lance's neck. Lance Storm missed some time for the injury but it sure was one of the stranger injuries to take place. Storm had stated and Jimmy corroborated that Christian had strong forearm bones and when it connected with Lance Storm's neck, the hyoid broke in response

About the James Storm injury...abdominal tears can happen ridiculously easily. I tore mine once by sneezing too hard. An ex tore hers once reaching down to pick a dish cloth off the floor. When it happens it doesn't require a lot. That said, they also heal very quickly. With mine, I missed a half day of work to go to the ER and still helped move a three bedroom house that Friday (tore it on a Tuesday).

You guys didn’t even get the worst part of the bulldog injury. WCW had TWO rings that night, with one not being gimmicked, meaning they could’ve had Davey Boy wrestle on the normal ring but chose not to. Then, his injury surgery led to his eventual addiction to painkillers and morphine, which in part, contributed to his death in 2002. On top of that, WCW fired him via Fed Ex while he was recovering in the hospital. Just a super shit show
