At least there was some good that came out of the Benoit tragedy. Without what happened to Benoit, it might have taken far longer for the truth to come out about concussions and the effects they have on the brain. What happened with Benoit and his family asking for his brain to be examined lead to a new avenue of mental health and will probably save many many lives while improving the quality of life of many others. Sidney Crosby, of the NHL, is one of those people.

One of my surprise emotional episodes was Winter Is Coming. December 2, 2020 was a special Dynamite. For me, much of the early part of the show was business as usual. Then came the Cody and Darby Allin vs Team Taz match. Cody was doing his thing, Darby was doing his bit and Team Taz were the heels/tools according to script. Team Taz had begun an attack on the duo that were their opponents, even knocking down Arn Anderson. Just when all hope seemed lost for the heroes of the match, the lights went out. When they came back on, snow began to fall in Jacksonville, FLORIDA. An entrance video began with a wintery scene. Then a scorpion flashed onscreen. Then the music that started with the video began to up the tempo as one word came up, blurry at first. As the word came into focus, a trenchcoated figure stepped out of the tunnel. The next two words said encapsulated the emotions of ANY wrestling fan with a heart. "IT'S STIIIIIIING!!!!!!!" Tony Schiavone screamed. It's EXACTLY what the world needed at that moment. Covid was kicking butts around the world. People were just surviving, though elements of life seemed on the horizon. And here is a man who they said was done with pro wrestling. They said that things would never be the same. Sound familiar? And yet, here he was, in all his glory. Jim Ross said it best. "THIS CRAZY YEAR HAS JUST GONE INSANE!" (And don't give me that crap about experts calling this. For all we knew, Steve Borden had wrestled his last match EVER.) And then the shock of Moxley losing to Omega. Ahhhhhh! Blah, blah, blah. Sting is back in wrestling!
