Hey Jeff, I would like to say thank you for the content. I just started hunting this year and all the advice from your videos helped me achieve success three weeks after bow opener. I used your advice on hunting the weather and killed my first deer. He was a young 4 point buck but still put meat in the freezer. I just turned 32 and didn't have a hunting mentor growing up. I had to learn everything from the internet and my own trial and error. THANK YOU!

First shooter buck showed up last night around midnight. For the past couple of weeks I’ve had multiple doe groups several 2 1/2 year old and younger bucks. 2 - 3 year olds. Had a giant show up on the neighbors land in daylight early October. Haven’t seen him since. Might have been passing through? But now I have this new buck. He might be a buck I know from last year as a 3 year old. Now at 4 he is a clean 150”-ish 10 pt. It will be tough to pass him if I get the opportunity. But he gets me excited so…. Yeah! I have been implementing g the strategies you provide and I can say “It Works”!!! Thanks!

Found an untouched spot on state. I was minimally Intrusive and there is some beaten down trails being used daily. I found it last week and backed off waiting for conditions to be right now I decided to take a rainy day to scout so I could be quiet and leave less scent. I found it and now it's go time. Hoping to bag a buck from it because of the sign there but if I don't see a buck and doe are primarily using it I will gladly get some venison. Just waiting on that west wind. I think it's a crushing trail for scent checking bedding. I noticed it months ago and it wasn't used much but now it is being heavily trafficked. Going to go hunt it in the next week or so. Hanging a camera on it the day I hunt it as well just to see what's cruising it.

Walk in and out in the dark, walk at a steady pace, just keep walking, don’t stop and look around and listen that’s what predators do. If I jump a deer in the dark I will do some short contact grunts while walking don’t stop, if I jump a deer in the daylight I actually use turkey mouth call cuz turkeys are abundant in my area.

Jeff, do you ever run into situations where the mature bucks bed in different areas nearly every day? They make their way to the food and the does from different directions. One day they come from the west, the next from the north, then maybe 2 days from the east and/or west. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Also, there has been little to no pressure put on them. Any suggestions?
@normankaster9172 жыл бұрын
Seems like he is getting pressure from something... Bigger/more aggressive buck, people driving by and stopping on the side of the road to glass.... So I would suggest taking a Gamble and run with one of the stands that has the most activity from him and offers you the best wind and set up for an all-day sit.

I’ve been debating moving a couple of ground blinds back from the current 25-30 yard range to a 40-60 yard range closer to the wood edge along the access paths I have cut after the rut prior to rifle season. From what you are saying in this video probably better to just leave them be and hunt them as is during rifle season?
@codyguyette36362 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeff I know this comment has nothing to Do with the video however I curious! Do you do online parcel setups like you would when you would travel to a clients property? I have a spot I got permission and with access being very slim I was wondering some things I could do! I have learned so much from you keep up the good work!

Kind of off the subject. I planted switchgrass last spring following your instructions. I had terrible germination. Should I seed more this fall? Is it possible that because of the high hard seed % and dry summer that it will be ok next year?

I feel you. My switch was dead by mid June from the drought. My fall plots, even the last ditch effort using rye is totally burnt up. And it looks like next year will be worse. My water holes hopefully can save my season.

Sky-drawing is terrible form anyway. My bowhunting Yoda (who I even left too early, much like Luke Skywalker did) said even from an elevated position, draw straight-line back at eye level then bend at the waist to adjust pitch. I have drawn back at point-of-aim from elevation (waist or shoulders bent prior to draw) and videotaped my practice session, it’s thrown my alignment all out of whack and made me shoot high, low, everywhere but where I know.
