I remember when I was a kid my cousin worked somewhere that supplied food for the crew idk if he still has but he had signed pictures of the actors. What I always thought strange was where most film was filmed vs where the twin twisters was. That bridge is blacktop now. But it is interesting that you can still go and find the places after about 30 years later. I remember when the new style of dodge came out and my dad was thinking of getting one the pamphlets from the dealership had a red truck. But my dad got a black chevy. Twister made me love the Ram. In 2015 I was in outside sales for a large industrial company. All of their company vehicles were Ram 1500s. They leased them for $250 a month and after 2 years sold them and got new ones. In my 7.5 years there I had 3 of them. They were great. I beat them to death. Many, many times going full throttle, carrying pallets of water a lot (which is over 2,000 lbs and well over that trucks limit). Other times carrying nearly 1,000 pounds of fasteners. Never once had an issue.

I'm doing a Twister project with the Dodge Ram and Dorothy but toy size as a diorama! It's gonna be good as Dorothy will be flying! Its for when Twisters comes out this summer! I grew up with watching Twister over the years! Note: As far as the fifth DOROTHY comes around in Twisters, the labels are pretty much the same but with some upgrades. The most recognizable upgrade is the lid is opened both sides by the button/ Remote controlled Kiernan Shipka's character pushes, kind of like what Jo (Helen Hunt) pressed in the original except the buttons are on the same side from Dorothy I-IV and Dorothy V. The button is by the DOROTHY sticker with the tornado saying Muskogee State College. We'll get a closer look once Twisters comes out and why Dorothy with its lineage made a return. Again that's what I've noticed. And there's no CC cameras on Dorothy V so far. And the barrel for Dorothy hasn't changed at all.

Just 4-days ago I watched Twister (on DVD) for the first time since probably 1996. I do like the nice brand-new Dodge truck/trucks they used in the film. And even that dually Chevy Suburban (not shown in this video) was pretty neat. My reason for this comment is more to give props to "Big Brother" and the algorithm for suggesting this video to me, since I DID NOT go looking for anything regarding the movie nor the vehicles of the movie! And this video has only been out for 3-days longer than my revisit to the movie. Pretty incredible.

I remember seeing this movie in the theaters, came out and the sky was black from a severe thunderstorm in the area at the time. I can't recall if it dropped a tornado but there was localized flooding because the rain came down at the same time as a mean high tide. As for the trucks getting harder to come by, makes sense because the second gen is starting to push 30 years, and that gen dodge always seemed to rust out on the cab corners, foot wells, and fenders. Plus the usual dodge front end falling off issues.

@@edwardbright9434 Well, the way I see it friend; we should just be grateful that any of these now quite old series even get any attention in Hollywood anymore. None will ever match the originals of course, but at least the franchises get exposed to younger generations and help to bring the originals to light more as well. The older I get, the more I realize there's no point in getting upset with new generation integrations or sequels of old tiles emerge, best to just accept them and you don't have to watch any of them if you don't want to of course. There are still a couple young people in my family, so I try to keep up myself, for their sake and so I at least somewhat know what they are talking about 😉
@terrybeavan42643 ай бұрын
@@edwardbright9434 I'm very wary about Twisters myself especially since we've lost so much of the original cast, not to mention nearly everything Hollywood produces these days is complete dreck, but I did see the new Top Gun movie and you should see it. Tom Cruise did it right from start to finish with perfect nods to the original movie and the wife and I absolutely loved it! I don't think you'll be disappointed--no, make that YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! (A video about the Kawasaki as seen in both movies would be a very good thing!) However, my favorite movie is Jurassic Park (hey how about a video on the Jurassic Park Jeeps and Explorers???) and all I can say about the most recent sequel is the cast was great but couldn't quite make up for a broken script. :(

Tough trucks, indeed! Same with Gen 1's! I miss my red '93 Ram 150, standard cab, long box, 5.9L mag. Excellent. One note: My bro and i have scrapped out a few veh over the years. An interesting thing is veh glass toughness. Vintage..ie 60-80's & even 90's Mopar cars/trucks/vans have extremely tough glass! I can't vouch for anything newer, but veh glass specs have resulted in thinner glass these days. The classic Chrysler Airtemp glass is insanely strong. One time we were parting out an '85 5th Ave. Deal was to pick the thing up by the roof with a tractor with forklift forks on the bucket. We figd ok..break the side window glass out. I grabbed a driveshaft (Yeah..heavy!) to use as a battering ram and..it bounces off the glass! Try agin..like 5x finally gave up and just had bro drive the forks into the glass..the forks skidded up and slipped through the top of the door frame and finally then..i guess chips and nicks from all of that the glass finally spiderwebbed! Jeepers! Ya shudda seen this 3,800lb car rock to the side as the tractor pushed at the glass. I am sooo not making this up. Brand X anything..Ford, GM, AMC..glass was never even close to this to tough. PPG made excellent glass..out of bizz..bc too good, as it goes. They sold less glass bc the stuff never broke much!

I love my '96 2500 Cummins, but Dodge DEFINITELY dropped the ball with the dashboard materials!!!!! There is a company call All Dodge Truck that repos the lower dash cores for all the 2nd Gens now & LMC Truck does the uppers & pretty much the rest like the dash bezels. You know you have a problem when you go to hit the preset button to change the station & your radio falls in backwards! Ask me how I know! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Not advertising, just provide information if anyone wants to restore their 2nd Gen.
@CarStarz423 ай бұрын
Yep, the dash disintegrated in my old '94 when I had it too. Mopar had a full dash replacement for awhile at least, not sure if they still make it or not, that I replaced it with and man that was a PITA to install!

I currently own a reg cab 1500 from 96' with the V8 5.9 (360) engine, has 225k miles on it, engine still runs and drives just fine....the dash on the other hand, not so great....dash? What Dash? Lol Definitely not getting $30k for mine it was a Sheriff's Personal Response Truck and then as my POV for the Fire Department, it responded to over 600 calls over the course of 5 years. Some of those were Direct on scene or I responded to crashes that happened in front of me or very nearly when I was on the road. Its an absolute beast of a truck with a very bullet proof easy to work on Magnum Small Block engine, the predecessor to the LA 318 which I also have in my 1978 Dodge Ramcharger, it has over 96k miles on its thousands odometer, which broke 26 years ago its been across the US fro CA to NC 4 times, still going strong. Fun family fact I was Born in May my Dad in March, his Ramcharger date code is for May my date code on my Ram is for March. Two vehicles bought over different times. Dad has passed now almost 4 years, and it's not easy, but having the family vehicle I grew up with and learned to drive sitting in there I feel my Dad sitting there next to me, in both vehicles. Thanks for reading ❤

A lot of people forget about the Dodge truck V10, but they shouldn’t….at the time it was the biggest engine ever put in a 3/4 or 1 ton American pickup, gas or diesel. Only the GM 8.1 /496 V8 would surpass it in 2001

This movie was such a big deal when it came out. The story is crap, so it had no staying power. But it sold as many Ram trucks as Reynolds sold T/A's. The Ram was just as big a deal. Really, it was a risk for Dodge not to release the new Ram - saved Chrysler from bankruptcy (again). I would suggest a video on the dually Suburban, but that GMC motor home is more interesting. Lots of cool hero cars in this movie with so little screen time.
