Teacher Susie, you are really much better than most foreign teachers. You can use very accurate Chinese to explain English. With this, you are very good, because you have spent a lot of time laying a good Chinese foundation, and at the same time Taking advantage of your native language is great! Really.

Conspicuously mastering 10 words doesn’t change any fact of being unclever. 🤔
學到了😁,但比起單字,那種由簡單的字詞拼起來的片語感覺更困難 像是之前聽到 "You have to put your foot down" 意思是 "to act firmly",沒學過的話會一頭霧水

I accidentally run into your channel but feel some vague familiarity. It’s like I met you in China and you were very memorable, or maybe I don’t have good memories. I'm truly happy about your next journey pursuing your master's at Oxford. I've also been doing my PhD in the US. I guess in a way we both may miss the times in China from a few years ago. A message after another full day working/study.

Very well presented and very informative. “Eclectic mix” is probably British English-it is rarely used in America. The word “astute” does not have a congruent (for lack of a better word) equivalent in Chinese, but it indicates 機靈 or 機敏。Thank you, Susie.
@morris44903 жыл бұрын
Rivetingly I knew these words when I was 18 🙄 huh uh well and Eclectic mix is definitely BRITISH ENGLISH, not probably.

I think that in Cantonese 識執生 or 隨機應變 is very similar to the word "astute".
