Lost Ruins of Arnak: The Missing Expedition is SO GOOD! Especially if you're playing solo (or with two people in co-op). The difficulty tailored to each chapter is super challenging, and it takes more than one approach (aka the research route) to beat it. I highly recommend it.

Kanban EV is rated 4.31 for complexity on BGG. I like games that make you think a LITTLE but aren't brain burners. I also like to play games for fun, so if it feels like work, I could totally relate to your comment. I'm not big on games that have a lot of recordkeeping or rote memorization like I'm creating an excel spreadsheet (I work in the regional office of a bank). Not saying KanBan EV is like THAT, but I totally thought your comment was spot on about "feels like I"m at work". I need to start using that :)

I have Lost Ruins of Arnak and its expansions on my shelf but haven’t even played it yet, will give it a try soon. And I’m afraid it might be too late, but, they’re out there… be wary, I hope they don’t get you

Agricola is waaay better than Hallertau. Even at two players.

@@BoardgamesforOne With the expansion decks agricola has well over 1000 cards, ensuring that an Agricola game will NEVER be played twice...in the universe. Also, its a game that doesn't hold your hand. Its ruthless and cutthroat, and has deep strategies. Do you go for a late wood rush? When should get a new family member? Which cards should you draft, and when should you play them? Its just delicious on every level. And if you have more than two players, it can accommodate them just fine.
