Disagree with Ikaris being on here. I saw it as Ikaris couldn’t live with either killing Sersi or betraying Arishem which would create conflict so he remembered Sprite creating stories that include him flying into the sun and gave him an ‘out’. Plus being on Twitter many thought it would be Druig to be the villain so Ikaris being the villain actually did pull a punch.
@kadosho023 жыл бұрын
Same feels on this one. It felt like he was a puppet on strings, he possibly made a deal with his creator (it may not be established that he couldn't) but to save the others, he probably took a pact unbeknownst to be a puppet causing death and destruction, betrayal, and possibly the end of existence. The turn around being, he had to become something he dispised. Aside from the creatures evolving, being one of the Eternals does not come without risk or sacrifice, even for the greater good. Plus what we learn later, everything falls apart within all of them. But a chance to help save humanity, his flight to the sun saves others from a worse fate that he brought unwillingly. Also Arishem is known to manipulate and control within the cosmic universe. Making his creations puppets is not out of the question. Free will is a gift. Until broken.

A good twist is one where, when it's first revealed, the viewer thinks, "OMG, never saw that coming," and then, on a second viewing, "Oh, so THAT'S why that happened. It all makes sense now." See 'The Prestige' for a perfect example. A poor twist comes so completely out of left field that, not only does it not make sense at the time, but when you rematch the movie, it STILL doesn't make sense. See 'Fight Club', or anything by M Night Sham that isn't 'The 6th Sense'.

I don't think plot twists need to always be surprising and unexpected. Yes, it's great when a plot twist catches you off-ward and you can see the threads pointing in that direction in hindsight. But a plot twist you can see coming because the author laid it out for you can also be satisfying, in the sense that you're waiting for it. Ofc this all assumes that they are properly written, it just bothers me that people say a plot twist is bad only because they saw it coming.

Think nothing is worst in Cruella than when the Baroness pushed her off the balcony…like her arms didn’t extend, she didn’t put her weight into it, and the balcony railing was over Cruella center of gravity …the way she pushed her it is impossible for her to fall off…people use more energy to push the lever on a soda fountain than she used to push her off that ledge

Had Netflix ever made a movie with a GOOD plot twist?

I respectfully disagree with the Spiral one. Yes it was a bit predicable but I think that was the point. And I congratulate them for not trying to repeat what they did in the past, like they did in Jigsaw. It works better. Sure they could've fixed it a bit better and try to work it in better, but I think for what else they accomplish, the kills and the traps, gave the movie enough of a leg to stand on with the other SAW movies.

Can I recommend next time you just put the movie titles and times? That way we can skip the movies and still not be spoiled?

Really? Really? These are the WORST plot twists you could find? Seriously? How hard did you look?

The unforgettable "plot twist" wasn't for shock it's more of a soft reveal from the beginning so you understand her frustration

Just because you didn’t see a twist coming, doesn’t mean that it’s a good twist 🤷♀️

Too many times, in this video, the explanation for the twist being "bad" was "the execution was bad"...well, that's VERY subjective, isn't it? Moreso than a simple review of the facts of the plot & twist.

Woman in the window was a book first so I wouldn't say the movie had a bad plot twist since it was in the source material

I think it's more about the execution.

@@BobbySacamano Fair enough I never watched the movie because I heard it wasn't that good. Which was disappointing because I enjoyed the book.

I have to push back on Awake having a bad plot twist. Dying was the cure. And we're not going to follow the story of the family who doesn't figure out the cure in a movie.

for me is more of a mistery that the military and scientist did every inmoral act they could think of; except trying to reset the brain on one if the monkeys... like ok, don't try killing people but use a lab monkey to see if the EMP had the galnd on a loop and reseting it could help.
@meg99533 жыл бұрын
@@diabolicpanda That's fair. I suppose the excuse is that they were exhausted and doped up on those stimulants so they weren't thinking straight

I’d add last night in soho to this list, the movie was intriguing until it decided to force an unnecessary twist that made the framework of the film seem... so ridiculous. Beautifully shot tho

For The Virtuose, I don't think Hopkins being the bad guy was supposed to be a twist, the moral of the story was for the Protag to overcome his own fears/failures and move on. He does so at the end, but is still killed. Now the new girl who killed him will have to go through the same journey with Hopkins (the one who failed to overcome).
