I had a close friend who had the ropes break on him during a indy match, ended up taking a nasty spill to the floor and a bad concussion. Still shudders when i remember that match, as i was two near the spot.

I know it was a freak occurrence that will never happen again the same way it did before but Over the Edge '99 still makes me nervous anytime I see an off-the-ladder spot where they catch themselves on the ropes. Just a few inches forward or back could be a terrible accident.

The first quad tear comes to mind. Quad tears are infamously some of the most painful injuries. I remember Nash being in a heap on the mat, seemingly sobbing in agony after tearing his. Trips just finished the match. Including a spot where Jericho put him in the walls. "Yeah, go ahead and put me in an elevated boston crab" is something only a complete madman would say with a torn quad

Potential for a concussion/neck injury. The ropes have give laterally more than they do vertically, since they’re meant to be hit back first when running or pushed off of when diving.
