It is absolutely dangerous if you're not fully alert and active. Doesn't matter if you deliver or receive, wrestling moves depend on all parties coordinating and timing their body movements tightly together to maximize showiness and minimize injury. If your posture goes wrong mid-move, you're risking injury to one or both people. Hardcore Holly causing hus own neck to break by sandbagging Brock Lesnar is an example I watched as a kid.

Remembering a passage from his 1st auto-biography, I was surprised as hell that anyone could think it safe for Mick Foley to wrestle for as long as he did. The passage mentioned detailed his concern over one of the bursar in his spine, which seemed oddly white compared to the other greying bursars on the image. He was shocked and more than a little stunned to learn that the white bursar was, in fact, the only healthy one in his entire spinal column, and the greying of the other was a sign that each was damaged to varying degrees. That he is still able to walk these days is nothing short of a miracle.

Misawa should have made the list, the man died in the ring after taking a back body drop. Turns out his neck had been ground to dust due to years of relentless wrestling and not wanting to hang up his boots.

I’ve always wondered with the Bret/Perfect match…the way Bret absolutely torques that Sharpshooter…did that contribute to Perfect’s injury or was that just selling?

I'm surprised Jake the Snake Roberts in Heroes of Wrestling wasn't on the list as he was completely wasted and they had to bring in Yokozuna & King Kong Bundy to finish the match.

Based on the footage provided it was Vader's right eye, not his left one.

Jeff Hardy, New Jack, Sandman, Raven, RVD and nearly all the ECW roster could have been enough to make a top 50 times workers shouldn't have wrestled, EACH

You should mention Hardcore Holly. On September 26, 2006, Holly received 24 stitches from WWE Doctor Ferdinand Rios in his back after suffering a severe laceration during an Extreme Rules match against Rob Van Dam when he landed on the metal railing of a table he was suplexing Van Dam out of the ring and through during an ECW show in Tulsa, Oklahoma. That was a hardcore performance!

My understanding of the Vader match is that Hansen hit him with a stiff shot, breaking the orbital bone of Vader's right eye. That's why his eye popped out several times during the match.

I love how everybody says he was thrown off the top of the cage onto the table. NOPE, Taker just had his hands on him, and Foley jumped. That just tells you how believable it was!!
@PlumbPitiful
@PlumbPitiful Жыл бұрын
It was probably a combination of being thrown and jumping. Either way Mick had to be in control of where he landed because if he'd have missed that table and landed on the floor then he would have been killed.

Its outrageous that Kurt Angle got a concussion, received medical attention for said concussion, and was somehow allowed back in the ring a short time later.
