I've seen solar that doesn't attach to House. It is in a tall stand in the shape of a flower and in bad weather it coils itself closed and goes in the ground storm passes it comes back up and opens and follows the sun! That's a cool solar system that protects itself.
@chezmoi422 жыл бұрын
I looked for it, there are YT videos about it, thanks. Looks like it costs close to $31K installed in the US, but it is an ingenious idea, and may come down in price as the idea becomes more common.

Hey Randy and Amanda. You are doing an amazing job!! When you build the lodge, consider having a laundry room, a community kitchen, etc. How about a community garden, composting area, maybe a shared library/media center?

We have an old ladder-type stair going up to an upstairs egress door, and the cats love to go up there to sun themselves, then jump up into the gutters to patrol the house. Years ago, one of them found a way to get into the adjoining neighbor's attic, come down the stairs, and visit them. They closed hole that right off!

I like the look of this house, with the wood on the bottom half and the stucco on the top, and with wood trim around the windows and doors. Love the large deck on the end with the sliding door, I would put decking on the side to the deck. Also love the long window over the sink area, and the big sliding doors to the covered porch. Also love the big sliding windows to go with the sliding doors. Put some pull down screens when you want some screens, or outdoor curtains, that you can open up or close. A picnic table on that deck and some outdoor furniture will be nice on that deck. Love the size of that deck. This is one sweet house. She has a really nice neighbor, in Mike. You all need a big pond behind the houses. I love what Mike has done with his lot, and the back yard. He has gotten a lot done. Love the colorful bench and the shark, and the TIKI Bar over the hitch, great idea. Love that triangle cover with the lights. The sandy color on Mike's concrete is a great idea, like being on the sand at the beach.

There are solar panels that come in different colors that work with diffuse light. They can be used as windows, too. Look up diffuse light solar panels. They are really expensive at this time. Mayor Mike - since you are an artist, consider using pink board (rigid closed-cell foam) panels for your skirting. It comes from Lowe's in big sheets that are easy to cut with heavy duty sheers or an electric bread knife, and can be painted. You could make it look like your house sits out over the water on a beach! ⛱️
@susanbeals75972 жыл бұрын
@@CapysGardenShop - I can see why! It's super easy to work with. A 4'x8' sheet that's 1 1/2" thick has an R value of 7.5. It's solid pink on one side and all the writing is on the other side. It's pre-marked to cut in half lengthwise, for 2'x8' panels, and an Incredibox would only need 3 panels at $42 each for 2' tall skirting. Just spray or roller paint the outer side, and install.

I grew up in Western Michigan and I hated it from November to April for all the gray, ugly skies. I lived very close to Lake Mich. ( like within 2-5miles from it) where ever I lived, so we always were dealing with lake effect snow and clouds. It was hell for me because I have S.A.D. ( seasonal affective disorder) and need sunshine. I finally, very briefly moved to Montana, which I adore because if how sunny it was and the mountains just speak to your soul and change you for the better. However, no matter the love affair with the mountains, I just totally couldn't handle the cold (like -55 with wind chills like -70 or more). So Florida here I come. I finally found "home" here. Wonderful sunshine, and plenty of water and beautiful Sandy beaches that are best in the world. All I need to do is find a place where tiny homes are allowed and built to the rigorous standards necessary to meet hurricane standards.
