LOl.. Me and my late wife used to look after our then 8 year old grandson who had ADHD and slight Autism, but apart from his tantrums was just a great kid.. When he was younger still I used to let him help me in my hobbies of working on my old Landrover or rebuilding some of my classic motor scooters. He started by learning how to use an electric drill by screwing odd bits of wood together, then he progressed.. within a year or so we bought him a 50cc dirt bike he rode in my yard but as his balance at first was bad i had to fit some cycle training wheels on the back axle, it worked he rode it all around my yard. After a while we took the training wheels off he was a bit wobbly but soon got his balance but by then he knew how to clean the dirt bikes carb, check the spark plug all that stuff..Not long after his 8th birthday his Nan became very Ill with brain cancer and my son became very Ill with sepsis and was on life support so sadly i could not cope, The lad had to go into Foster care of a great foster family.... Over Christmas I got to talk and see him on watsapp on our phones and he told me I am the best Grandad EVER for teaching him things In life other than boring things like other kids his age get taught.. He said i WILL NEVER FORGET THAT GRANDAD- bless him.. Kids need just a bit of good teaching in life and they may not be real clever at school but will know how to think and work on things years ahead of others.. God bless all "Challenged" children eh, even those who are quite normal but do the best burn outs .. respect - thank you -- Ian -- UK.
